Killer work! Do you rent all of your gear?
@joebressler6 ай бұрын
I'm always switching on and off between owning a base camera package that I could shoot a project like this with. At this point I owned a Red Komodo (the camera we used for this project) and some Leica R's. For work, I pretty much always rent, unless it a project that calls for a super run and gun approach. I just shot a project in Paris that called for something super mobile and easy to use as a solo op, so I bought an FX3 for that project. The short answer is that I choose the right tool for the project and mostly rent, but also buy/sell gear often.

Really beautiful commercial! And great lens choice too! Btw how did you mount the Jena onto the Komodo?
@joebressler6 ай бұрын
Thank you! We used the meta bones .73x EF to RF mount

Amazing work with the Komodo! I'm curious about the camera settings if all were shot on 800iso? And did you also happen to be using ND filters to create the moody effect?
@joebressler6 ай бұрын
Thank you! We shot at 250 + 500iso for most shots aside from the night shots, at 800. We did use ND's, but I'd also have to give a lot of credit to the environment, wardrobe, lighting, and Bridie for the vibe.

I was looking to buy a Jena 20mm and in doing my research KZbin suggested your page. What a fantastic discovery I’ve come across! Love your creative energy! Definitely have a new subscriber in me! Question. When you shot with the Jena 20mm, did you use the full sensor (17:9) or did you shoot in another ratio? I’m getting mine converted to EF Mount so I was wondering if there was any vignetting to be worried bout or should I just get it adapted as a PL Mount instead? Sorry for the lengthy post but it’s not everyday I run across a page like yours so if I could get your opinion that would be invaluable to me. Thank you in advance! Salute! 🫡🫡🫡🫡
@joebressler5 ай бұрын
thank you for subscribing and for the kind words! we used the full sensor and did not experience any vignetting. I would recommend PL mount as its more future proof, EF seems to be going away in favor of RF. PL is also a more secure mount, although cameras that use PL mount (and adapters) tend to be more expensive
@Oshotya5 ай бұрын
@@joebressler Thank you broski, I appreciate that! I’ll go with the PL Mount then. I was only going EF to put it on a speed booster to get the full field of view. But I see your point. Thanks again. Looking forward to learning more from you. Salute! 🫡

Nice job! Question. What settings did you use for the step printing effect?
@joebressler6 ай бұрын
We shot on the Komodo, and dropped the frame rate to 11fps and played with shutter (slowing it down) to achieve the desired effect. In post you'll need to manually slow the footage down, and this can also be done to taste.
