I have a healthy regard for self preservation. If I see a sign telling me that death awaits I'm off back the way I came. I don't know how a lone man can go to a forest where people never go and enter creepy buildings that harbour evil Yet they still carry on hiking towards danger. @@LindaYariger technically you're right based off the spelling. The word for high is spelled haut, but it's pronounced the same. If plateau was spelled plathaut, it would fuck up the pronunciation.

Possible Spoiler: Huh.... I got a theory about the 2 dead men hanging upside down. Maybe they're the 2 rangers that went missing in the search later. That area might be in some weird eldrich time flux. That's why that station seems so decrepid in such a short time. And were either group really who'd they said they were on the station or campsite? Were they really some occult trying to awaken some long sealed dark entity for their own nefarious goals gone terroribly wrong? It might explain the chainsaws. Even that extremely old sign warning of impending doom suggests that the area was out of tempral flux. Why would it warn of danger to all that don't turn back if the danger was only recently released. When the sign is so very very old. Also how did those suposed geological people get there if the main character and the passing day hiker had the only vehicles in the parking area? In a way events are going backwards. A A station built near a trail landmark that park rangers had no prior knowledge of The mysterious campsite, the 2 rangers that went missing but found by the main character dead before they ever went on the search, and the people at the ruined tree.It's like even though the event that releases the entity hasn't happened yet. I's effects are spilling backwards into the past. Very creepy. Thanks for another fantastic wilderness tale gone elderichly wrong. ❤😮

I carry a .454 in Louisiana and I have needed it. Once to scare off a Black Bear that was used to eating from a corn feeder my poacher neighbor put near my property. Multiple giant hogs, and even a stray mountain lion that Wildlife and Fisheries said couldn't be here until he saw multiple photos and video. Just because you think it's unnecessary doesn't mean it is.
