Fair comment Johnny. But…my take is it depends on how much you value your time. Some subs are priced too high in a way that the investment doesn’t balance out the time saved. But I’m always happy to pay for something that genuinely saves me time/energy.

Why not Milanote? I'm looking for something new from Freeform as well. It has a lot of promise, but it's so far behind the curve and missing features, it's a no go for me. aka. can't use spacebar + click to move with a mouse... seriously, wtf. Can't resize objects to match size with another. It's just tedious

I use Obsidian Canvas. It's not as feature-rich as Scrintal yet, but it's a good free alternative. I used to use Milanote, but due to the limitations of the free plan, I switched to Obsidian.

That’s if you pay the lifetime membership, yes? Otherwise it’s under $80 a year with my discount. I pay more and get less from my Goodnotes subscription.
