What a memory you two have created and a beautiful cozy book nook. Readers love to see their books displayed, and this corner is exceptional. Agatha Christie winter murder, a hot bevie, warm reading socks, the crackle of wood in the fire, .... Bliss.

I recommend anything by Manning Coles! Two people who worked for MI5 before during and after WWII combined their writing talents and their experiences to make suspenseful novels with the occasional dry English tongue firmly wegded in cheek humour. Main character, Thomas Elfinstone Hambleton. A great read and always hard for me to put down. Another is the Father Brown mysteries. These were written for magazines and papers so they are short stories. This is for people who are very busy but still need the occasional short reading break.

I loved it. But two things I would change would be (both real easy)... Add more peg holes so you can maybe squeeze in one more shelf... and because it's such a dark corner, I'd paint the inside of the shelves and cabinets the antique white (leave the face frames, the ledge/countertop and the doors green). It will throw more light onto the books and make them even more beautiful and visible. 💖🌞🌵😷

This was an extremely special video. Danie, you and your beautiful mom not only created a cozy reading nook, you create special mom and daughter memories.❤ When you said "Is that why we call a loony, a loony because it has a loone on it." I as a Canadian who lives less then 2 hours west of you, was about to put on my toque, red and black flannel jacket jump into my car 🚗 drive to your house an revoke your Canadian card.🇨🇦 But I will not. Because I am Canadian and it's not polite to come to someone's home invited.😂

Great job you two!!! Such a wonderful time together you two had making this space for your mom! That’s the even better part of this project. A memory created together, between mother and daughter!!! …. I also think you guys came up with a perfect name for your mother’s home, “Cozy Corner”. perhaps, now you can make a sign for outside the house, saying something to the effect of, “Welcome to Cozy Corner”, or “Welcome to Cozy Corners, or “Welcome to Cozy Corner Manor”, or “Welcome to Cozy Corner Cottage”, or simply, “Cozy Corner Cottage”. You get the “fib”!

Looks so good! Love that you two worked together to get it all done AND that you left in the hiccups and oops moments so we can see that even experienced “real” DIYers sometimes have to rework plans and that things don't always go perfectly smooth. Makes all the aggravation and mistakes we make while learning seem less like “ugh I can't do this, why is this so hard, no one else has this much trouble” seem more like “these are just the way projects go” and that having problems pop up mid project isn't necessarily about our skill level but just the reality of doing DIY projects- so appreciate that. Another great project!!

I loved that room right from the start, and what you and your mom have done has totally transformed it into a very inviting, cozy, snuggly, tea drinking, reading nook and I LOVE IT!! I am partial to green, as various hues are my favorite color, so love the paint color. The only thing I would add is an oversized ottoman (with storage for an extra blanket or?) and a cat. Yes, I am a cat person, and I understand your dog may not take kindly to a cat in his/her home. But that would be my additional vibe, if it were my room.
