My favourite part of my kitchen design was my motion sensor water faucet. Add a motion, sensor soap dispenser, and no more mucky taps.

Suggestion for the sink/faucet. Change to one of those faucets with a sensor when you put your hands under it. No more turning off with wet hands/dripping behind the sink.

So Danie, what is the “do dad” you used on top, between the slats (to keep them at the correct spacing) while you pounded the tacks in?

We have butcher block counters. Just last week we sanded and refinished. It took 2 days, but now they look good as new.

The nook in your bedroom should be multi functional. I see a vanity with the mirror attached to the wall and a Murphy table. For vanity items, they would be on shelves next to the mirror. The chair would have a stool to turn into a reading nook in that same corner. I see lights with brace shades so as not to light the entire bedroom, but just the vanity, kind of a half moon light facing to the center of the mirror, but won't bother your husband. The mirror should be painted in muted greens and browns with a fairy theme without the fairies. DIY DANIE! I hope you at least read this, and maybe it will give you inspiration for what you might want or what you definitely don't want. 😅 We are here to inspire and awe in your creative heart as you paint the rainbow of your metaphorical blood, sweat and tears as you would say. I have an etched glass shower surround. Looks like yours but the etched areas are just etched. Was going to use black tape but I know paint would adhere well. Tried a Marks a Lot marker and it’s still going strong in the test spot behind the hamper.

Love the vanity area, make the wall in the bedroom just as special…..you can do it.

Symmetrical shelves on the bedroom wall fully decorated with books and such.

You could change out your kitchen faucet with one of those touch faucets. Might be a spendy item but it’s a thought.

Fuzzy furniture pads under the legs of the hall bench would help with the scratch problem. If you had clean cuts on the wood around the sink, clear caulk would have looked nicer. Impressed at how well the shower door held up!

Faucet water problem related. My roommate and I got a motion censored kitchen faucet that looks almost exactly like yours. It’s battery powered, and it works phenomenally. It puts every public restroom motion censored faucet to shame. We got it on Amazon on Black Friday a year ago for around $65 USD. The original cost was around $120 if I remember correctly. We don’t have issues with water getting on the counter top anymore. It could be an easier fix to that problem.

In the kitchen you could replace the faucet to a sensor one you just wave your hand to turn on and off

A friend of mine just put in a touchless kitchen faucet so she didn’t have to turn on the faucet when cooking with raw meat. She loves it! Maybe that would resolve your water wear and tare challenge behind the kitchen sink!

9:03 I was able to adjust my handle and bring it in front of the faucet, underneath the head of the faucet… It looked weird at first but now I’m obsessed with it… hot is to the right. I’m used to it now. ❤

you could switch out your kitchen faucet for a faucet that turns on when you touch the handle with wet hands
