It's easy to villainize Alicent with her more traditional standpoint & stoking the fire for the Dance of Dragons, but she is equally a pawn in the political chess game of thrones as well as a player. I would nominate Otto as the true villain. Almost like Meghan Markle but unable to leave, she wore Hightower Green to have some sense of belonging, solidarity, and agency. From Daemon's barely-concealed snubs, King Viserys mourning for Queen Aemma, & her former bff seeing her as the Evil Stepmother whether she was or not, not to mention the petty infighting at court (I'm sure other Houses, esp. Velaryon) fueled the jealousy and resentment among other Noble Houses, Alicent was stuck in a toxic environment and had no choice but grow toxic to survive & thrive. Unlike Rhaenyra, she rarely, if ever, had a chance to choose for herself, hence she lived out her fantasy & ambition through her children, much to their detriment in the future. I believe Rhaenyra's blatant lie about her hot girl summer rendevouz was the straw that broke the camel's back since Rhaenyra's freedom to explore further reminded Alicent of her lack of choice & mistrust in whatever shred is left from their fracturing friendship. Hence when she wore green, she's showing her envy ( green is symbolic of envy) & subtle middle fingers to announce that she no longer gives a fuck anymore about their opinions & she will start her father/her own agenda too, truly beginning to play the Game of Thrones. That's why Aegon, Helaena, Aemond, and Daeron all wore green after their mother & grandfather's influence. The Blacks are no saints either even though I still support them. Viserys' favoritism & being in denial of the Strong Boys' parentage are clear as day, further splitting the Targaryens into two factions despite being family. Alicent and her children are basically the proverb, "The child who is not embraced by the village will burn it down to feel its warmth". Alicent was the match that lit the fire while her children burned & burnt under her bidding. Nearly all their descendants paid the price for this intergenerational rivalry, even the ones who survived the Dance. Both the book & adaptation are like a PR campaign persuading the audience to support Rhaenyra in contrast to the social-climbing Greens, but there are always two sides to a story, Your video sheds light onto the other chapter from the Greens' perspective brilliantly. After all, many victims grew to become villains from a lack of better options. (SPOILER ALERT) In the end, the Dance of Dragons was a pyrrhic victory for both factions. With Alicent's descendants wiped out by premature deaths, she truly did not belong in the House of the Dragon where the Hightower Targaryens won the battle, but lost the war when Rhaenyra's son Aegon III was crowned King of the Seven Kingdoms and continued Team Black's progeny.

I agree with this! I can't say I'm a Team Black supporter but I'm also not entirely pro green either because both sides did horrible things. Otto and Viserys are ultimately the ones that set this thing in motion but it's the kids that suffer and have to end it. I'm like yes watch and enjoy but at the end of the day turn your brain on and don't just agree with what the makers of the show want you to think.
