The title is perfect 😂🙏 I felt so frustrated after 40+ chapters, an almost YEAR LONG arc it felt like we ended in the same position we were in before this long ass arc but I just dislike all the characters more especially Mizuhara. i guess it's suppose to get somewhere... editors aren't stupid. pretty sure fans are fed up with all of this too and reji and his editor knows that. so my best guess is he as a plan and follows it. i just hope the manga won't end just by the two of them going out together. Because i'd like to get another 200 chapters of them just being a couple! see how they live, how mizuhara acting job goes, kazuya could get into movie production in college or something like that. I feel that feeling of frustration since I’ve also been reading it since summer 2020, and it was just annoying to see all the progress over the two years of waiting just fly out the window. If this scene was way earlier instead of being after a drawn out arc that came after the movie arc, I would be more ok with it since Kazuya was like this before then. However, at this point, he should have developed much more than just only thinking in his head and not communicating since it’s just gotten stale at this point. I guess some other gripes that I can throw in is that I wish Mami’s backstory was developed more over time and shown through recollections throughout while she was actively being the antagonist since it would have led us to see the pieces of herself from her perspective over time and ultimately made her character feel more alive and impactful. Instead they threw the backstory right before the phone drop like a shonuen tournament arc and it just kind of just felt forced due to how long the paradise arc was. I could keep going on about other things, but I don’t want to bore people as this is a comment section: thank you for reading this long paragraph, and if you didn’t, that is totally understandable: have a nice day.

@@557deadpool there was some in the movie arc since it broke the repeating pattern of “the gang is about to get caught and the lie exposed,” and then it got reset. Of course there is also Kazuya’s character development which fell apart after the movie arc, so you are right about there not being any progress because the author just removed it in the current arc.

@@kashforte8832 no there wasn't, because even after the pointless ass movie arc, nothing has changed. You can still put Vol.1 at any point and you'd lose nothing. It's the same status quo. Even Nagatoro at least had progression between Senpai and Nagatoro after 100 chapters, they're pretty much a couple now. Or shit, look at Chivalry of a Failed Knight where the OTP is established after about 4 episodes.

Been reading since summer 2020 and the 1st season of rent a girlfriend was one of the best anime I’ve ever seen(at least harem) but pretty fed up with a lot of the bullshit that goes on the story. You have moments where you’re like FINALLY but than get back to square 1 for Virtually nothing.

The more I read, the more I find out Kazuya is such an inferior man. Cannot control emotions, lack of self-confidence and self-disciplines, easy to overestimate/underestimate self-image. He need to be more mature, but after spending time read all the way to the latest chapter, I still cannot see much difference inside of him. I thought that there will be something in the Hawaiian trip, however, it is still the same and I can't help but feel angry of him. Therefore I feel that he, not yet, deserve to be Chizuru boyfriend, or at least still not reliable enough. If he can be more like Ishigami then there is hope for me.

Honestly, its been fun reading the manga but i don’t know how much more patience i will have. Reiji Miyajima, i get he wants money but please end rent a girlfriend. At this point the only time the manga will end is when we get bored of rent a girlfriend or Reiji runs out of ideas but he will probably start another long ass anime and it will probably go back to square one until Reiji runs out of ideas and hes just going to create another anime.
