Almost Everybody thought that the FL character doesn't do it for the story but wait until season 2 when her character transitions and matures and a new female character is introduced to form a love conflict, I'm pretty sure most of gil chae critique will finally root for this couple. Their screen chemistry is amazing as well as how the story progresses. And a few weeks ago this series actually won 5 major awards including best actor and best actress respectively.

The truth is none of them were totally honest about their feelings and the efforts they made for eachother. The fl toyed with ml heart and male lead didnt let her know he has been her saviour throughout the war. If it wasnt for him she could have died , even tho she herself is very resourceful. The fl is a coward of her own feelings. She chose to trap herself in a loveless marriage and love in denial whuch is quiet pitiful. Based on the ml character, something happened in his past as to why he is that way. Had she truly given him a chance , she would have learned it.

The main reason why she didn’t runaway with him is bc the officer gives her family stability. If she had ranway with him, who will truly take care of sister and brother ? JH asked her if she wanted him to stay, if she had, im sure he would have given her and family a stable life. But she didnt .she was a coward because she failed to be true to her feelings and worst married a man that she doesnt love while keeping JH in her heart. Plus she failed yo realize that her "husband " lied to her about what happend on the island . If it wasnt for JH they would have been dead while the captain lived knowing he put them in danger. Why does she not deserve his love ? She didn’t do anything wrong. He kept playing games and got hurt at the end bc he fell in love. He only considered marriage in ep 8 and only gave actual marriage proposal in 10 in which he wanted her to run away with her. Whenever there is hardship he would runaway. She can’t do that, she has father, sister and brother to take care of.

Terrific and one of the finest Korean actors.A surely must watch whenever he leads the story.He almost always deliver witty and comical lines…except when his role is called for a serious portrayal like in “ The Veil.” Am not much into historical but He knows how a watcher can be captivated with the stories and his character accordingly.Great one!👍👍🫰
