Mizzou fan here. I read an article on betting games. This was back in the early 1990s. The writer said from all of his investigations that winning 70% of your games is good. The man was not talking about preseason prognostication. I think you did pretty good. During the season you have teams who do better than what was predicted before the season. For instance Arkansas, or as Kansas folks say Ar-Kansas. Everyone had Arkansas doing better in 2022. They fooled everyone and 2021 was their breakout year. Another factor was a mid tier team upsetting a top tier team. Nobody can see that coming, but that same team the next week loses 90% of the time. That's because of injuries and being emotionally drained the following week. Preseason picks can't see these sort of things. Who could have foreseen Wake Forest? The sports writer at the St Louis Post has only got Mizzou with 5 or 6 wins. I hope he's wrong. Even I think it is at least one more year before Mizzou wins 8 games again. Drinkwitz concerns me about his defensive philosophy. I hope that I am wrong about the qb situation. Their quarterback missed a wide open receiver in the endzone on their last possession in their bowl game against Army. Missouri may surprise me, but I don't think so. I think football in general is fun because it is an ever changing sport. The experts are wrong most of the time so do they have any claim to really "knowing" the sport? ENJOY football and it will be more enjoyable. The history of the sport is so rich and the teams are so awesome to learn about and root for. People who think there is some sort of standard to understanding the sport are overthinking and overcomplicating the sport. A few kids line up and a ball is thrown or run down the field. Whoopdee-doo! Must've taken them a few doctorates to figure that one out.

A&M has not been less than a 4-loss team since their first SEC season in 2012 (not including the 2020 Covid year) when they had Johnny Football. I admire that they did hand Alabama their 1 loss that year in Tuscaloosa even though they later went to destroy Notre Dame and repeat as national champions.
