After watching the video , I just wanted to ad . I use Brown KIWI Shoe Polish on my Rotel dust cover . Car Wax also does a really good job as well . You just have to keep polishing for a few minutes to achieve the best shine .

I'm going to try PlastX. My TT cover is not all that scratched and I don't have a buffer and sandpaper takes too long. Thx!

There are a hundred videos showing the quick, easy, cheap way to remove half of the superficial scratches (but not all of them) and they are all the same. What I have yet to see is a video that shows in earnest, how to sand out deep scratches and buff the cover until all of the superficial scratches are gone.

Yeah this was back in the day and while it brings the turntable lid there a long way from the seriously scuffed it's not a complete solution. Turtle makes a product with a couple of different grit pads if you use those pads you are literally shaving the plastic off the list to get deep enough to cover some of those deep gouges. Again it's not perfect but it's the best we've been able to come up with. The product is Turtle Wax Headlight Restorer and when used in conjunction with the Meguiar's polish you can get some decent results. Good luck!

Bruh.. gotta get a power tool polisher (drill even works). You'll cut those scratches out with about 1 hour of mechanical polishing with your meguires.

For sure - this was more meant to be a quick fix and it's a good start. There are many solutions with a variety of grits and power polishers that can further the process. Thanks for the comment.

The Plastx can actually get a cover looking almost new. You just need to pair it with a cheap polishing pad set for a cordless drill and some patience. The set can be had for -$10 on ebay!

Mcguires also makes a set of finishing pads that are actually next level and can make it go from that looks fine to brand new.

Dust covers. Waste of time having. They are way more problems for what they are worth. I wish they made wooden ones . These things are impossible to NOT scratch in the first place.

The Dust Cover Hustle we call it... no... no we don't. But I understand your perspective. The Empire Troubadour had a wood and glass cover.
