There are about 200 breeds of dogs and about 5% of those are responsible for all serious attacks. So yeah, ban about 20 breeds and fatal dog attacks would be zero. It's not brain science.

What % of what breed will be included in this ban? 1/2 % or 1/4% or 1/8% or 1/16%? How much will be too much of a percentage of a particular breed? It's irresponsible of Sunak to come out with this statement, like he has. Should have said "we are consulting with experts to decide what is the best course of action to take" NOT that they are going to ban this ?breed? by the end of the year. Unfortunately, owners of any dog that looks like it could be part bully are now going to be living with harassment from the jump on the bandwagon, of the simple minded woke (w⚓️) brigade. Home broken in to… Personal vehicles smashed up on the driveway for asking people parked over the driveway when throwing litter… The daily habitual process of requesting clowns to refrain from parking over the driveway… Habitual incidents of clowns entering the property taking personal goods at will without consent… A plethora of reports made the Police and local council officials (County Durham)… And absolutely nothing done!… Some are left with no opportunity but to purchase a Dog that will defend the property with vigour as the local authority do absolutely nothing!… This is another attack on the good dog owners who want their persons and property protected due to total abolition of those that are contracted to protect you!… There is a clear social responsibility for us all to be protected and safe… When Government fails you… You have to do what you have to do and my dogs are not only 110% loving and loyal within the family home, they will defend myself, partner and kids to the end!… It’s a shame Sunak has not grasped the daily responsibilities of providing safety and protection from a broken and unlawful society that my dogs provide!… Maybe that’s what he wants… Take away your protection to make the Governments continued control easier when they come for you!

It's very sad for the existing dogs. They will be forcibly removed and destroyed. The vast majority of them will be loving pets that people have had for a long time. Surely a better way to do it would be to ban the breeding of them and make it illegal to have them out in public without muzzles and force owners to register and licence them? kind of like a phased withdrawal? and even then, the breeders will just mix them with a slightly different dog to evade the ban. I feel so sorry for the innocent dogs with loving owners. It is cruel to do it this way.

I lived with my Golden Retriever for 11 years. I let him play with all sorts of dogs because he was very well-socialised with people and dogs. One day I took a poo bag out and shook it to open it and one of the staffie.. whatever went crazy - it went for my arm until I dropped the poo bag and it destroyed it. I ❤dogs but there are devil dogs out there. My arm was saved because I had a thick winter coat on.

Me and my b.collie also got attacked by 2 staffies, the owner was putting his car in the garage and one came out frm nowhere and was ok, when the 2nd one came out to investigate thats when they started circling my dog then all hell broke loose and they attacked. the one lock jawed onto my dogs chest, i was punching kicking even tried to prise open the dogs jaws to no avail. so i ended up prising my fingernails in his/ her eyeballs then they let go. and all this happened while the owner just stood there instead of helping to get them off.

There wont be a mass cull of non aggressive family pets, but muzzling in public will be a legal requirement and so will paying insurance. Owners may be required to pay for it being classed as exempt but will still have to wear a muzzle in public for rest of its life. One thing is for sure... the next 10 years will see thousands of non aggressive family pets seized under suspicion or owner not following new laws and the shelters will be full of them. Exactly whats been happening for past 30 years.

The stats are very misleading and easily confused. That specific breed is very new. Most people I know with them got them couple years ago during lockdown, these dogs are untrained and young along with being the trendy popular breed for all the people with more money than sense to get. Would make more sense to have a legal requirement for these dogs to have professional training then after a couple years we can review the stats again and if nothing has changed then fine ban them, but to knowingly mislead the public with bias stats just to be seen as if they do care about the public is wrong in my opinion
