What’s sad about it is the media will retire AJ before he retired himself, for the last 10 years he has bought boxing back to the mainstream, he’s brought UK back onto the scene. He’s had some massive highs and some huge lows in his career. He has had arguably one the most competitive campaigns out of the current heavyweights, and purely because he’s not a cash cow for sky anymore he is being written off. Usyks not really getting the credit he deserves either, people are saying AJ are crap rather than how good Usyk has been. Good fight Saturdays, I see AJ causing early trouble for usy and applying early pressure but ultimately I don’t think he’ll do enough, he’ll gas and get stopped. I really hope not though! You mean sky are now not being ridiculously biased towards aj. And the retirement talk is legit to talk about because is aj really going to spend a few years fighting his way back into a title shot. Sky backed aj and gave him the platform to build his profile from day 1 and then they turned there back on sky for dazn. Hearn talking shite as per usual,british boxing was back before aj and this interview stinks of a man who knows his main cash cows career is probably over this weekend.
@declannann10102 жыл бұрын
@@bartman01021988 ridiculously bias? They publicly backed their guy and promoted him as any good business would, he was favourite with the bookies for most of his fights and then won 90% of them which sort validates skys faith and hype. It’s a two way business, sky only backed AJ as they knew sky would bring in viewings figures, ppv buys and commercial popularity. As a result they mutually made a lot of money. I don’t believe AJ has any need to retire unless he feel financially sound and has lost love for it. Why. Usyk dominated first fight n didnt stop him. AJ can only improve on 1st fight .
@mitchsanderson82062 жыл бұрын
This is my prediction. AJ needs to put a dent in Usyk early, particularly the body if he can pin him down. If I’m AJ though I’m hitting everything attached to Usyk 😂 defo not going the full 12 this time.

This is why I don't care about public work outs. It's a waste of energy for a fighter and ever won't show off what they got saved for the fight

They should be done the open session in the fighters gyms. Watching 1 of their normal training sessions. Similar to what Anthony Yarde does. Rather than taking the fighter away from his Training schedule to put on a half performance.

Fair play to Eddie. Nothing new to me, but he’s a far more honest man than people give him credit for. Usyk in 8 though, he’s special

I think usyk this time will pick away and finish him in 7 to 10. AJ hasn't got a boxing brain and will always have a punchers chance but he's got to load up and with usyk won't have time

Fair point by Eddie about gratitude. But what are you doing about everything God, the creator, has given you?

“What has given you confidence this week?” “Being around AJ.” Then he turns around and calls Johnny Nelson a company man. Ha ha (Which they BOTH are, by the way.).

As a boxing fan, I absolutely fucking love the open workouts, it's not wo much about how much they do, it is being part of the whole build up of the week, gets you ready for the event and pumped up! But I'm a weirdo when it comes to this game 🤣😂

Talking about being there in person btw, doesn't have such an effect watching on the TV

Public workouts are a total waste of time and have served their purpose. Boxing should consider something similar to UFC embedded where they go behind the scenes and show the fighters properly training in the week leading up to the fight (it's totally intrusive and gets great numbers).

I think the public workouts should be side by side with amateur shows/fighters. Help bring attention to the ones coming through with the attention that the main eventers have…. Just a thought Could do a amateur fight, work out, amateur fight, work out, etc. 🤷♂️
@mikeeb862 жыл бұрын
Instead of Public Workout - Do a Fans Q&A conference similar to how UFC do for big events. Won’t be generic media questions etc. May get some good quotes from fighters promote the fight etc

This is the fight of AJs life. A must win and Eddie's in his corner so he has to back his man. Its a business and people have to protect their businesses as there's a lot of vultures out there ready to snatch ur meal ticket the minute u look in the wrong direction so u have to keep everyone at bay.

Open work outs can help with the mind games like Fury doing the whole workout southpaw. Gives some the fans a chance to see some the fighters close up. Helps with the media side of things. I never really been to interested in the open work outs though to be honest.

Joshua has been good for boxing. But it's disrespectful to froch to lay the credit at Joshua's feet. Froch was the man who took us back to Wembley (not that he likes to remind us.) Who had ppv fights and a ppv style. If any one fighter is to be credited with this generation of boxing's success it's froch. Let's be fair. Joshua just took it to another level.
