Eddie badmouthing sky is hilarious, one of the reasons matchroom grew so much was because it had the sky machine behind it. Sky Will always have a following for boxing because its just a big well run machine and it's the home of boxing in the UK. Hearn is very good at his job it’s as simple as that, like him or loath him he creates interest. AJ is a cash cow he has said it here, the moment he isn’t Hearn will drop him, if you watch the first Ruiz fight amd the Usyk fight immediately afterwards he was close to this I believe, however he has yet again done his job and is making fortunes off the back of this fight and AJ. No one in boxing actually believes Joshua can beat Usyk, Hearn included but he has done what he does best. After this AJ still has options, Whyte rematch is 100% something that will happen, but that is about it really.

What’s sad about it is the media will retire AJ before he retired himself, for the last 10 years he has bought boxing back to the mainstream, he’s brought UK back onto the scene. He’s had some massive highs and some huge lows in his career. He has had arguably one the most competitive campaigns out of the current heavyweights, and purely because he’s not a cash cow for sky anymore he is being written off. Usyks not really getting the credit he deserves either, people are saying AJ are crap rather than how good Usyk has been. Good fight Saturdays, I see AJ causing early trouble for usy and applying early pressure but ultimately I don’t think he’ll do enough, he’ll gas and get stopped. I really hope not though! Good luck bith

You mean sky are now not being ridiculously biased towards aj. And the retirement talk is legit to talk about because is aj really going to spend a few years fighting his way back into a title shot. Sky backed aj and gave him the platform to build his profile from day 1 and then they turned there back on sky for dazn. Hearn talking shite as per usual,british boxing was back before aj and this interview stinks of a man who knows his main cash cows career is probably over this weekend.
@declannann1010
@declannann1010 2 жыл бұрын
@@bartman01021988 ridiculously bias? They publicly backed their guy and promoted him as any good business would, he was favourite with the bookies for most of his fights and then won 90% of them which sort validates skys faith and hype. It’s a two way business, sky only backed AJ as they knew sky would bring in viewings figures, ppv buys and commercial popularity. As a result they mutually made a lot of money. I don’t believe AJ has any need to retire unless he feel financially sound and has lost love for it. All of the greats had various losses at different times in their careers and there’s no reason AJ can’t come back and be a big player in the division. You’re obviously a hater

@@declannann1010 why am I I hater for speaking facts? The simple fact that you decided to use the term hater would instantly make you a fanboy then I suppose??

Let's get behind AJ. Because from the start he had the hype train right behind him. He was used/was the cause of inflated ticket prices, sponsorship deals, and PPV prices. Is it his fault? Prob not. But he has benefited more than anyone from the fans already "getting behind him". Because he's been found out, both inside and outside of the ring, it doesn't mean the UK fans HAVE to continue to support him any more. To be honest Usyk is much more likeable lol AJ is a product. Milking what he can. And fp to him and his team. They have done just that.

Rather than doing a public workout, give fans the opportunity to mix with the fighters, some signings etc. This would be class in the UK.

Public workouts are fine as they help build hype, but implementing something like you guys did for lockdown (game show type thing) would be awesome. You don't necessarily have to have the headlining fighters in said show as they probably won't want to do something like that although I'm sure the undercard would for the exposure.

If he does and he will land to Usyk’s body he has a chance. I like both guys. I don’t actually care beyond nationality and wanting to see Fury vs Joshua.

Public workouts are a total waste of time and have served their purpose. Boxing should consider something similar to UFC embedded where they go behind the scenes and show the fighters properly training in the week leading up to the fight (it's totally intrusive and gets great numbers).

Joshua has been good for boxing. But it's disrespectful to froch to lay the credit at Joshua's feet. Froch was the man who took us back to Wembley (not that he likes to remind us.) Who had ppv fights and a ppv style. If any one fighter is to be credited with this generation of boxing's success it's froch. Let's be fair. Joshua just took it to another level.
