I actually started playing this again seeing you do so ( though I don't have the balls to do it solo~ That ant dude with blue tentacles out his back was messing me up so bad lmao ) and have been having a lot more fun than I did years ago lol~ For context the Atlas Vestige is for Yakumo's Blood Code. You can talk to your party members ( and some other NPCs like Coco ) to have them give you their Blood Codes. Also Io can restore the vestiges to unlock more skills/memories ( Though you probably knew that lol )👍🏿 Also Atlas has imo one of the best Gifts for Two Hand weapons where it's just a lunging double sweep attack. Covers a ton of area and is pretty easy to hit. Also can be a bit safe since it's hard to whiff and you clear groups of enemies pretty freely~ Also from playing with AI partners I noticed they tend to do something that I've kind of adopted is that when a boss is phase changing or down they use their blood veil attack to charge up more ichor. Kind of makes sense honestly in retrospect lol

The red and blue mantis guy is surprisingly tough. I believe I first tried him on every playthrough, but every single time, but the last one I was one hit away from death 😅

The stats you see on weapons and veils are shown for the current code. Prayer shawl is actually very good for Light gifts for example

Atlas bloodcode is pretty good for 2H weapons, you get it from Yakumo at home base, good aoe weapon skill and 2H weapon mastery passive skill Bloodveils mostly affect magic only the light/dark magic stat on the blood veil is the casting power for your magic spells/buffs and the type of blood veil affects your parry type and backstab damage but that's mostly negligible

Spears are jammed in halberd class and I'm generally not a fan of either, but in this game both feel very good. I think only weapons I don't like in this game are bayonets. They feel like a little bit of a waste imo

U can use a special move when ur blue bar his flashing. I dont remember how tho

I think there are two and you can do the uppercut normally, but it won't launch enemies and give you a follow up without focus

It’s been a hot minute since I played this game but I’m pretty sure there’s a blood code you can use that makes water navigation easy. And you either got it in a previous mission or in this mission.

i hate this level with a passion but the boss was really fun reminded me of a traditional souls fight, maybe tate eboshi from nioh 2

I don't have much issues with this game's level design, but I understand why people don't enjoy this level and the cathedral. I definitely think some over exaggerate how bad they are by a lot though
