She was obligated/forced to marry the king, which is why she says “I don’t need your love” but then clarifies that she could never say that to the king. Like I said before, the first portion of the song is a letter to her lover, which describes her true feelings and why she is being forced to marry the king. She is telling him that she loves him, not the king.
