Updates and events in general have seemingly gotten worse since 2020 (likely epic games). Most events these days are just boring reskins of rumble for example, we get far less golden eggs and so many annoying UI changes (the bar in training for example)

Regarding the rocket pass, although I won’t really use the items, I think it’s important to acknowledge how they actually made a different looking car with a non-flat hitbox. I hate the map, the tooth wheels are a little weird, but at least they did something different with the car.

But I understand why some people might hate it, especially who play with higher brightness. What I can't stand is the shitty potato car they gave in in RLpass. Regarding the new map... you should check out how this arena looks on consoles. Yes okay you don't get the best graphical fidelity on consoles anyway, but even on PS5 it's an utter abomination (I'm actually curious how it looks on other consoles, and if the Switch loads the map at all or just cries in the corner instead). The weird comic book shader they used imparts a really ugly artefacting effect in a lot of places, around all the coloured lines, and even around the player nametags. The hexagon wireframe pattern on the ceiling and walls is a hazy mess. It's like if you added a deep-fried-meme filter, it heavily amplifies all the rough aliasing and other visual issues that I can normally quite happily overlook. Years ago, when it first came out, I played Minecraft on a laptop that usually ran it at a single digit fps, so I've always had underpowered hardware and I have a very high tolerance for awful graphics. So if I'm noticing it, you have problems. PS: On behalf of console players, can someone please tell all the angry text-chat mains that in-game messages don't work cross-platform? You have to be in a party, and actually use party chat, to get through for some reason. What this means is if you spend your kickoff typing at a console player about how bad they are and what they should do, they can't even see it, all they know is you're not moving. So your enlightened instructions and sick owns are only wasting your own time. Thanks!

You know what I hate about Rocket league? The fact that leaving casual games gets you banned from playing any online games for 10 minutes, then 20 minutes then 40minutes and so on. Even if your internet goes out for whatever reason. It's super frustrating and it's stopped me from playing rocket league

To be fair, it exists to prevent you from messing up comp games, and although it sucks, you wouldn't be being fair to the other comp players if your internet constantly cut out like that. Not saying I love it either, but it's just the way it is. Edit: To clarify, I wish it didn't ban you from joining casual matches at all, unless it was really excessive.

Rocket League is totally unplayable for me. I can't tell if it's my internet, my controller or Rocket league, but I get latency spikes, my controller freezes for a second quite often making my car stick in 1 direction. The latency spikes up to 400 ping but so briefly no one believes me. This never used to happen even when I had worse internet. No other game has had this many weird issues.

no, rocket league had a formular that worked, even when it comes to art work, the new map is going away from that formular, imagine this was the only map rocket league had when it came out and this seasons rocket pass rewards were the only things in the game, the cars etc. there is no way the game would have had success in general with those assets as the representing theme. it's easy to look at it that way and conclude that this was a real miss. You should aim to improve or at least keep a standard, not lower your standard.

I was a dedicated gamer since the NES and in 2017 I got sucked into Rocket League and it took over my gaming life for about 3-1/2 years! Then last year I got a PS5 and about 6 months later I just stopped playing Rocket League, even though I still watch RLCS... It wasn't a conscious decision to quit playing, but I no longer have any "drive" to play the game at all.

Rocket league should have gone for a cyberpunk theme. Neo Tokyo fits perfectly. They could have just added another map like it. Maybe they should introduce more wheels like deicis, oems and tunicas that have the same tires and look awesome painted black. That's the wheels most the player base I see uses. Not the weird galaxy looking flashy distracting wheels. More painted default decals like rlcs, lonewolf and dune racer. Instead we got another merc that's somehow uglier.

This rocket pass as well as the map shows how much Psyonix cares about us players - not at all. This is the first season I'll be protesting this behavior by not buying the season pass, as well as taking a break from Rocket League. Season 6 is a joke. I'm a S6 Plat tournament winner, which is the first tournament I've ever won, but the rocket pass is a mistake. All the stuff in there is garbage and it just screams "Epic, take me back."

Last season's map was way worse than this one but no one complained about it, that made them keep the map in the game. People complained about Neon Fields and they removed it.
