Ngl another problem I see is just the current state of micro-transactions and battle passes, I feel that if they produced another titanfall is would be riddled with something like a seasonal battle pass and other in game store items that require money. Genuinely though, one of the primary reason that I enjoy Titanfall 2 is that it is purely focused on gameplay. There is a storefront, and there are cosmetics that I can buy. But it isn't baked into the game like that stuff is in Apex Legends. I've never felt pressured by the game to spend more money on it. Whereas a game like Apex, I feel that pressure all of the time, and it detracts from my experience with it.

I think a lot of the things they are doing to apex is specifically because apex is a Free battle royale. None of this stuff would carry over to titanfall. They would never make a season pass for a paid game, and with how open and forgiving respeten has been with movement and glitches in titanfall 2, I don’t see them taking movement out of titanfall 3.

Man, I have never thought about the current state of the franchise in this way. You have a great idea I hope Respawn will use. Take the current perfected game, and remaster it. Whether in a free update, DLC, separate game, that would be the best new Titanfall. One that doesn't stray from the fundamentals at all but is fully polished with new content. A second campaign? Sure. New pilots and weapons? Sure NEW TITANS? Fuck yeah. You get the gist. Sadly, Respawn doing this is not the most likely. I am sad that the game might eventually fall and be forgotten after all it has done to change the gaming industry.

The way I think they could improve on the formula is to add better maps that facilitates more movement. Not that the player can’t get creative but I think some of tf2 maps aren’t as centered around movement as I’d like them to be.

A lot of the things you mention: Low TTS, Slidehopping (as opposed to higher skill bhopping which they completely nerfed) , Tf2 titans, are things that the community of the original game were pretty against. Its weird seeing people call it "trademark titanfall things"

The reasoning here feels pretty shoddy. You're neglecting the fact that Apex and Titanfall are completely different games. Titanfall is much more arcadey with a lower time to kill and a focus on individual skill and flashy plays. Apex is a battle royale with a high time to kill and a strategic team play focus. There has to be limitations on movement in Apex so that rotations and positioning actually matter and aren't completely trivial. It's a design choice to favour long term planning. It's the same reason CS:GO limited bunny hopping. The idea that Respawn is suddenly "anti-movement" because of this is silly. If they did make a new Titanfall I'm pretty sure it would be great. I'd be much more worried about the aggressive monetisation and the story changes.

While you do make some decent points, I feel like a lot of things you are saying are very misguided. For example, you mention how the Apex team may remove the slide hopping mechanic, but you forgot that most mechanics in Apex and Titanfall 2 are intentional. Apex, for instance, has a larger than usual window to pull off a bhop by design. The reason they want to nerf or remove tap strafing is that it's very unfun to play against and makes gunfights unfair. Another issue you bring up, game servers, feels incorrect as well. As someone who has done work with a number of game engines, I believe the Source engine, which both Apex and Titanfall use, is the most vulnerable to attacks. This is not a problem exclusive to Respawn, but seems more like a Source problem. If you want any more evidence of this, try looking at the Team Fortress 2 botting problem. I somewhat agree with the argument that people have overhyped Titanfall 3 and made it impossible to release, therefore giving it the same problem that Valve faces right now. Personal opinion here, but of all the large studios around right now, there is none better than Respawn to make Titanfall 3. Respawn has proven time and time again that it still knows how to do movement, and also create interesting and new stories.

I don’t disagree but I also feel like a lot of crazy fast movement like that isn’t that idealistic in apex just because of how wide some places are and traveling across that map would be crazy. I mean think about how fast the moment speed alone is in titanfall and the how tight the maps where built for wall running and speed building. People found crazy ways of getting speeds from grappling to grenade hoping. It’s also a smaller map with a players spread all over with short time to kill making the game fun in the way while in apex you do have to think about how you will tackle a problem of the other team(s) before during or after a fight with a slower time to kill then titanfall.

The reason why i don’t want TF3 is the inevitable implementation of matchmaking models that maximise profits at the expense of our experience. Not to mention the likely inclusion of quips/taunts/winner screens and other types of lootbox noise. TF2 will never have these things and hopefully will stick around if people don’t have a direct sequel to play. I really miss the gritty feel of the first game and how both sides of the war were clearly defined in color and design. IMC in terms of color was white grey and blue, militia was green orange and brown. In terms of design, the IMC looked professional and uniform like an actual army where as the gear of the militia was a mess of different bits and pieces taken from many places, like an actual militia with very limited resources. In titanfall 2, both sides kinda look the same except for small armor changes between grunts and color of uniforms

Yeah after the launch of Apex which added quite a lot of inovations to the battle royale genre, Respawn just got complacent. Their Star Wars game are absurdly generic and most of the stories from the outlands or whatever they are are very cringy. But if i could make Titanfall 3 this is what i would do: -Remove hitscan weapons and ADS on most guns -Add enemy pilots and more interesting enemies for the campaign

They'd have to get all the Titanfall 1 dev team back, brainstorm with the Apex team, and find someone that could top the Jack-BT character arc. Given the huge playerbase for Apex, tying the two together is smart but God the need to be careful about it.

I do agree with you on certain things, but I think you’re being a little over dramatic with the “Respawn Hates Movement” statement. I’d love to see what they do with Titanfall 3, but if they do mess up, then I don’t know.

A few years, even months ago I would’ve wanted a titanfall 3 but now I totally agree with this video. I realised that titanfall 3 just wouldn’t live up to our expectations especially with the way respawn is treating apex and titanfall 2 at the moment. Our best hope is the community itself and modding capabilities. Now that North Star client has come out I hope we can revive this game and grow an awesome community around it. Stay strong pilots ❤️

I wholeheartedly agree. I posted this to Twitter a few weeks ago: I dont want TF3. I think they'll screw it up. I want them to fix TF2 servers, give it a Halo Combat Evolved-type graphics refresh, & add some DLC maps & new titans. Let's make this happen.

completley agree. Not to mention that the current respawn would just love to add lootboxes or, god forbid, something like heirlooms. I just can't see the justification for spending hundreds of dollars on a chance to get a meelee skin. I'd hate to see titanfall turned to that state.

Considering how long we've went without content or updates and lack of support from respawn themselves [constantly shooting themselves in their own feet] we've decided to add our own customization and harmless community mods to the game. Hell I know a few groups that are even making a Titanfall 3 that would likely be better than what respawn could ever make in their current state. It's wild to think about really

My plan is to become a game developer for the sole purpose of making a Titanfall game that follows in Titanfall 2's footsteps. It would be a focus on the awesome multi-player. It would have a vast customization, going in depth to customization, with the return of custom titans. It would feature almost every gun, including even Apex.

Honestly i always wanted the Titan gameplay to be remastered, to be.....Titan, i mean the TItans are squishy in TF2, would make more sense if they were completly invulnerable to small arms fire, except grenade launchers and missile launchers and heavy energy weapons such as SMR, Softball, EPG, Coldwar

they tried to remove tap strafing not because "they dont like movement" but because its a mechanic that was not ment to be in the game, but most of all you cant do it a console

@@odix87 I don't know if you played Titanfall 2 or not. If you played, then I don't anything to say. Progression, gunplay, fun and overall the game was and is unqie and pure. Not some shitty season pass with cosmetics that have no value beside money probably. In titanfall, you would unlock skins based on your skill. There were paid skins but you got what you paid, not lootboxes and season passes to hook you to play (and probably spend) more. If you didn't play it, well, That's the problem :)

wouldn't like a ranked mode tbh. The comp side of the game in my experience is not a nice one and I feel ranked would just bring in a lot egos and toxicity. Not saying ranked players are toxic cuz I know it's a small, loud minority of toxic players but still I really like the fun, casual attitude that the game currently has. I can equipt an epg or wingman elite and get a 15 kill game and have a much fun as if I used a car and got 27 kills.

Yup this is essentially what I lamented on Apexs release that people didn't seem to understand. The Titanfall 3 we were going to get is gone and its up to us to make the titanfall 3 we want.
