That moment when she probably felt at her lowest, the most alone, abandoned, rejected, and ready to give up, and a person who had wanted years ago, to do nothing more than kill her (well, MOSTLY take care of Dru, but then, to kill the Slayer), walked in, and simply handed her hope, comfort, unconditional love and the strength she needed. One of the most beautiful moments in this show.

Even though he composed for only 20 episodes (I think), Robert Duncan had some really great recurring themes, like Buffy and Spike’s, Willow and Kennedy’s, and the “Slayer” theme (the one that plays all over the final episode). He should release more of his work on Buffy one day!

Do you know of any other times in the series with Buffy and Spike’s theme? There’s the church scene, one from the penultimate episode (which is on the 4-CD release from February 2018), and the when she says goodbye to him at the end of the series. Oh and when she gives that necklace to him, which is also on that big release
