I Don't Want You Filming My Business! 🎥🛸❌😱

Today we take a look around Bott Ltd Van Racking & Conversions HQ (Ashby), Ivanhoe Industrial Estate, 9 Tournament Way, Ashby-de-la-Zouch LE65 2UU.
We followed the public footpath which lead us all the way up to the security barrier.
Staff didn't like us being there and when the owner came out we decided to show him respect and move back to what he claimed to be his boundary.
Another member of staff comes in an attempt to restrict our freedom to film and fly from the public place.
The drone goes up and we are surprised at how many vehicles we see.

It's not strange to believe that it's illegal to film private property from the air. It is illegal to film private houses so it's not as strange as you're claiming. People understand that you are not allowed to enter private property without permission so it's reasonable to believe that you're not allowed to film into private property either. You would think the Police would know this and be able to tell people when complaining that no offence is taking place but the Police seem to know less about the law than everyone else. The Police just think they can say something's illegal and that makes it illegal.

8:00 The right to take pictures from anywhere is covered under the human rights act article 8, which includes a right to participate in essential economic, social, cultural and leisure activities (hobbies). There is no right to not be photographed or filmed anywhere. Only if you have a reasonable expectation of privacy or more do have any comeback under the law and it's covered by voyeurism and stalking. And approaching a camera removes any expectation of privacy, no matter what is said about permission.

Poor Kev , he is obviously a bit of a control freak , and the company is his ‘baby’ this has him rattled. Apart from going somewhat hands on, he seemed like a nice enough guy, just a bit uneducated about HIS rights, and the rights of other’s. ( not to mention his misunderstanding of HIS obligations to public access to that land that he insisted you leave . ) I think Kevin, will want to read his deeds , he will want to research public photography, and possibly for sure he should look up the legal position on Drones. Interesting company though, as the owner , he could have given so much more to publicise his company, and if he had been a bit more professional ( like his employee was getting towards) then this could have been a Win Win situation. I just can't get my head around some of these folk. And i know the company will be watching this video and the comments. So what makes you think you own land which has double yellow lines? The director knew fully well that he didn't own it or even paint those lines. You have a woman who doesn't like being filmed and then insists you can't. But in the process proceeds to film. What makes them think they own the airspace? Does every single bit of aircraft that goes over their premises, have to seek permission? Course not. What makes them think they have the right whether they are recorded or not? You have no expectation of privacy in a public place. I personally go around and film when on my bike with my Go-Pro. I can't count the number of people who end up on my recording. Should i stop and ask permission from each of them? Don't be daft. Most of all, this company didn't display themselves to be that good.

All fantastic points. With all these videos, I'm very interested in the psychology of people and the directions that societies are heading in. From what I've seen on so many videos, the future doesn't look good...at least in the UK. There is a culture of defensiveness and fear. Kevin's elder brother is prominent in the international group management, and Kevin gets to run the Ashby plant which is their van conversions UK hub. Kevin doesn't own it, and has a vastly exaggerated sense of entitlement. There are 1.5m shares in the UK company and they're all owned by the German Bott Internationale Holding GmbH.

Great audit this one DJ! Very well articulated and conscise. Flexibility and humility is key for many situations. Its odd how a human being can be more mechanical in their way of approach to another then their own lifeless policies they seem to uphold so highly. A word cannot bend and yet being able to bend is essential for being strong and upright. Ridgity can create suffering, stagnation, negligance and prevent illuminating situations. Complete transparency sheds light even in the darkest of places.

It is sometimes the case that planning permission is given to surround what was once a public highway and that highway is sold to the company. However, because it may have been a previous right of way, as most highways are, then they have to maintain that right of way. You get that where a shopping complex is built across a pre-existing road that is then paved over for pedestrians. The right of way still exists.

Kevin left his premises to go out into the public and assault a member of public (Section 39 of Criminal Justice Act 1989) who was exercising the right to engage in lawful activity in a public place. Kevin needs to seek legal advice as he may shortly find the Police turning up at his place of work to arrest and charge him with assault.

From a security point of view I understand why they're upset but it's a shame they were hostile. Even if nobody came out and talked to you that company looked badass from the sky. The shot of all those vans parked up was great. If I owned that company I would've liked that for a wall in the office.
