Aright number ten is a very very special song that’s near and dear to my heart that took me a long time to write because I couldn’t get through it without, (uh), crying a little bit, it’s about missing my family, particularly my kids, when I’m on the road, and (uhh) a couple years ago, when my daughter was smaller, I had her record a few lines that appear in the middle of the song, at the bridge, talking about (umm) you know, missing each other when we’re apart, and that was the bit that I always couldn’t get past, so I had a hard time writing this song and finishing it for a long time, but when we got rolling on this record, (uh) finally got (uhm) o-over, over that hump, and we were able to, to finally finish the song in a way that I think did the, did justice to the-the sentiment of the thing, which is missing my-my, my kids in particular when I’m on the road. So that one’s pretty special to me. (Ryan:) Didn’t, (um) she-she makes an appearance as well other than the-the talking bit, right- (Dallon overlapping) -Yeah, she-she did a (ya know,) she does a guest vocal on that too, and (uh) (Ryan:) Which is incredible to think that like, you recorded her early on, right- (Dallon overlapping) - Mhm, when she was about like (uhhh) sssix or so- (Ryan overlapping) - Yeah, and then she comes ba-you know, she comes back like years later- (Dallon overlapping) - And she sings now- (Ryan overlapping) - Yeah! It’s crazy, man- (Dallon overlapping) -Which she surprised me with (yeah), this is a talent that she’s hidden from me for years (Ryan:) It surprised me too when I’m-when you sent me the track you were like ‘hey ok this is like, one of the final versions of the song’ (mhm) and I was thinking like, ‘WHOSE VOI-‘ you know what I mean? But then I (yeh!) put it together obviously but it was- (Dallon overlapping) - Yeah because she was eleven when she recorded (yeah!) (Ryan laughs) the thing- (Ryan overlapping) - So nuts, man- (Dallon overlapping) -And she can (great voice!) ✨sing✨, it, (yeah!) like, I didn’t know that, but (yeh) she, she really made the song complete.
