I had long Covid for 20 months I was suffering from major brain fog , no energy and tiredness,my wife said I should try the celery juice thing but with no water we had a juicer so 16 oz per day …..major blow out time …be near a toilet for at least one hour after drinking. It’s much easier to neal down the whole 16 oz in one go it’s hard work through a straw , the fresher the celery the lighter the colour the better taste. After 2 weeks my brain fog and tiredness had gone , loads of energy and I have gone back to work after 5 weeks in hospital, 1 year in bed and month’s unable to do anything. Rock on celery juice!

This celery thing should come with a WARNING! I tried this. On day four I chugged back my celery juice then jumped in the shower. 10 mins later as I was walking back to my bedroom, I dropped my towel in the laundry and strode naked down the hall to the bedroom. It was at this point I made the mistake of letting out what I thought was a small fart. The result was more like a Jackson Pollock painting half way up the wall and along the floor behind me. In horror I immediately turned to rush back to the bathroom however, in my haste, I slipped in my own faeces, fell head first into a door frame and cut my head open. Dazed, bleeding and slightly confused I dragged myself through my own "fart chowder" hoping to make the bathroom before the full force of the celery kicked in. Unfortunately I didn't make it. It was at this point when my wife came out of the kitchen to see what all the commotion was. According to her when she looked down the hall I was flat on my stomach with a geyser of sh#t spouting out my ar#se erupting like old faithful. I still can't think about it today without clenching my arse cheeks in fear! You have been warned!

A tip: you can wash the celery stalks BEFORE you slice them up. The surface area of the celery will be less than after you chop it up. And the areas of concern are those that are on the outside of each stalk. Not the surfaces made after the chop. ALSO: the fibrous part of the celery is very beneficial to the body. It feeds good gut bacteria to create a healthier environment. ALSO: Parsley added to the mix will sweeten the taste. Many athletes swear by parsley, calling it the "spark plug" in a smoothie

Great tip, I'll include it with my other health drinks. Celery was actually used as a medicine in India and China into the 16 centaury so someone new something about the health benefits back then. I drink apple cider vinegar (with mother) diluted in warm water every evening before bed and first thing in the morning (two tablespoons per medium glass) Fantastic to help your digestive system and keep bloat off. Also a brilliant detox drink is Kale/Blueberries /Kefir drink, all organic. Wash and freeze the kale and blueberries, then when making the drink put 2 cups of kale, 1 cup blueberries and 1 cup Kefir into a blender plus a little water and blend until smooth (2 minutes). Drink straight away, fantastic. Usually makes 2/3 servings depending on size of cup or glass. Enjoy

Celery juice is amazing for your liver I’m told, I had a friend whose Mum had hectic migraines & couldn’t take the meds she was meant to because they’d ruined her liver, someone told her to try celery juice for her migraines (which cut them WAAAAY back in intensity) & also helped her liver start healing. Celery is amazing stuff. I’m a weirdo so I’d be trying to drink the juice with all the pulp in - which I know would essentially be eating an entire celery plant every morning, but I couldn’t deal with the waste & would just keep adding it to my freezer until it was over flowing because I’d remember to save it, but forget to use it!! Hi I’m a problem it’s me! Anywho I hope that when you try it it works magical wonders for you. I should probably cut out the booze for a while again myself, thank you for posting! You’ve inspired me!

I only recently heard about this from a sort of occasional pal of my youngest son. The lad had been ill due to illicit substances, and felt in such rough health that he decided to go vegetarian. Blitzed celery is one of his things although he says he digests nothing for 5 hours after waking (I doubt that is a good thing to do long term, because of blood sugar levels dropping too much). I hadn't known anything about any of that - except on the very few occasions I saw him in the past he looked so ill. Then the last time I saw him he radiated health and I said how well he looks, so he told me. Of course he has kicked drugs to the kerb too. It was probably the change of diet which helped him. Of course you HAVE to ensure you still have enough Vitamin B12 which is most commonly found in red meat. The lad I mentioned above said he buys yeast flakes from a health food store. There may be other ways to get it into the system on a way it can be synthethecised.

Last year for a couple months I juiced enough celery to make 2 @ 6 ounce glasses of pure juice which wife and I drank every morning. Did not, repeat, did not have explosive results in the bathroom. I felt better than I had in many years (I was 72 at the time) and lost all my cravings for chocolate and greasy foods. I started eating only twice per day because that's all I felt like. I was impressed at how long celery keeps fresh in the fridge. I used a $40 juicer. Also we both ate a couple tablespoons of the fiber. In reading a book titled "I Contain Multitudes" I learned that there are certain necessary bacteria in our guts that thrive on fiber. We both loved the taste from day one. We later started mixing a carrot or 2 in with the juice. Difficulty in maintaining a supply of celery is what caused us to stop. Costco had trouble keeping it in stock and so did local stores. Time to start it up again.

Celery juice has helped my digestion and reflux tremendously. I know you get the most benefit from fresh juice, but it isn't sustainable for most people to make fresh juice every single day. I usually make a batch of 4-5 days worth in a juicer and then put it in mason jars in the fridge. I still feel the benefits from juice that isn't freshly squeezed. I’m just seeing this now as well. I think your idea of ramping up to 16oz sounds good, a little easier on the gut. Is this a weight loss thing do you think, or mainly just to feel better and help to eat better? Thanks!
@sc33h3o32 жыл бұрын
glad you're juicing it, store bought is not effective according to the man who's been healing people for decades with daily pure fresh celery juice on an empty stomach at least 16oz.

In my experience with celery juicing, I only use organic. Every time I use traditionally grown celery, it tastes bitter and I can’t drink it. Also keep it cold. Use cold water to soak it in and clean off the dirt because it tastes better when it’s cooler.
@Olhamo Жыл бұрын
celery is one of the "dirty dozen", so should always be organic, esp. if juicing.

Actually, celery is a natural diabetic, so it us relaxant. Especially if you get the root involved. Duh!

I was diagnosed with Grade B esophagitis and I drank celery juice for a week and got off prescription and otc meds.
@OfftoShambala5 жыл бұрын
So glad you found something that works for that... that can be a real problem! Strawberries might help with that also, look up strawberries for esophageal damage Based on what I knew about celery before the "craze" and how it is good for the gastro system, and the esophagus is part of the gastro system as far as I'm concerned, it makes sense Also, cabbage juice might be good for the esophogus as well... I am afraid I have some esophogeal damage myself (not diagnosed at all, it just hurts from years of heartburn basically, so there could be some serious damage there)... I am on a lot of strawberries right now... based on your experience I will definitely be adding more celery juice than I normally would use... usually I do a celery based juice a couple times a week, or not at all...but, will definitely step up my game and make sure to get it in much more often

@Taiwo Omotosho Six weeks... that is awesome! I will have to apply your strategy... love all the details... thanks for sharing... never thought to mix cabbage and strawberries... does that actually taste good? I was planning on doing strawberry banana smoothies every day, have some fresh strawberries and do celery cabbage juice separately. But, hey if they blend with the strawberry smoothies, that sounds like it's worth a shot! I think I saw that same guy from Australia. And I know about that old guy from the 50's too... cannot recall his name.

@@OfftoShambala When I first started "green juicing" I found I couldn't do it. The "green" was to much for me to handle. So, I just juiced strawberries and other fruit...which was very sweet, of course...and tart. Then I decided I really "should" add 'greens' to it...so I started adding some cabbage. Is was the lightest green thing I could find. Oh my goodness! It was so good. You couldn't taste the cabbage - but the cabbage improved the smoothie by a LOT. My smoothies tasted like they always had - BUT THEY WERE NO LONGER TART. Yes! I love cabbage now!
