I drank raw milk kefir for 30 days and here's what happened - read on below.
FREE IBD CONSULTATION: ibdhealing.ste...
What happened? My digestion improved noticeably. As a result of consuming raw milk kefir daily, I could actually tolerate and digest foods that I previously hadn't been able to.
The best example of this was nuts. I was able to consume large amounts of nuts for the first time in years. I would NOT recommend consuming large amounts of nuts to anyone with autoimmune disease or any chronic illness for that matter, I'm just making a point of how good my digestion became.
I did not experience any negative effects.
I will soon experiment with pasteurized milk from A2 cows and let you know what the outcome is. If it's well tolerated, well then this is a big of a game changer for people with ulcerative colitis & Crohn's disease.
Pro tip: Do not consume milk that is from cows that produce the A1 protein. Use only RAW milk from A2 cows.
Alternatively use sheep or goat's milk as sheep and goats produce primarily the A2 protein.
Pro tip 2: Hyper-ferment (yeah I made that word up) your kefir.. that means leave it to ferment for MORE than 24 hours, and up to 48 hours. This is enough time for all of the lactose in the milk AND the casein to break down. The kefir grains are capable of digesting the casein in the milk if left for long enough. This is helped by the acidity of the fermentation process which increases the LONGER you leave the kefir.
Pro tip 3: Plan your milk deliveries if you live in a state / country where raw milk is regulated and can only be sold in certain places / ways. This will mean you don't have to go without for X days or weeks.

Good information! I am also making highly fermented raw mild kefir with amazing results (healed autoimmune symptoms of arthritis, chronic fatigue, brain fog). May I make one suggestion though: to really heal your gut, simplify your diet and avoid sugar (except on very special occassions). I eat mostly high quality grass fed beef and lamb with green leafy vegetables, and the kefir, and THAT'S ALL! I'm 66 and I've never felt better.

I love my homemade kefir, I discovered it about 6 months ago, and after 5-6 wks I had stopped taking meds for aching joints and generalized inflammatory discomfort. I also felt like my digestion was better, but that's not a big complaint of mine. Then for certain reasons ( I ruined my grains, long story) I didnt drink any kefir for about 5 weeks and almost the second day my shoulders and back started aching again and have continuously since (I've started back on kefir again about 6 days ago and I'll try to NEVER go without it again!!) I have had crohn's for almost 20 years. I went the doctor route mixing some things I seen on the internet with not luck. I just kept getting worse year by year. I've been on iv Remicade treatments for I think 12 years. I almost gave up and had to stop my job of 25 years because of it a few years ago. It was a very dark place for me. Anyway I found some information on raw milk and making yogurt from it. I put it into an instant pot set temp at 104 degrees then walk away from it for 24 hours. I mix it in a blender with blueberries heat it slowly on the stove to 100 to 105 degrees then drink it. I read not to let it get above 116 degrees I think it was so I don't kill all the goodies in raw milk. I've been doing it for a few months now and slowly been getting better!! Many signs of improvement but still have a ways to go. It's been so long since I've felt good I truly don't remember what it felt like to be healthy. I mix it all with prayer and it's working for me. Hope this helps someone it really sucks to be sick. God bless

You may need to get rid of the candida yeast in your body as well (which may be causing the gas) that is probably overpopulated like it is for most of us. I use the CCWW capsules protocol (candida cell wall suppressor) to break down the cell wall, then activated charcol to carry it out of the body. Research it. It has literally changed my life. My lyphm nodes get a detox every time as I can feel them swell and itch. I am doing it again and this time using kefir to properly replenish my gut with the good yeast. I'm so excited! Yes Steven, kefir is fantastic for your health. I use to have trouble going to the toilet and sometimes i would wait for almost a week as i suffered constipation, i now drink kafir every morning and within 3 hours i need to go and sometimes even twice or three times a day. I also make my kombucha tea and i have a glass during the day, i find drinking both items makes my tummy settle and i don't feel bloated anymore. Also i don't eat as much because i feel full after drinking the kefir. I hope more people take up this fantastic gut cleansing and your never too old to start it as i am almost 70 and never felt better. Good luck to all and thanks Steven for caring 🥰

I've been making raw milk kefir for many years. I love it. I use a straining cap, that would be used on a sprouting jar, to separate and pour off the kefir. I use the red middle size cap. This makes it so easy to manage. I also only make one serving for myself per day, discarding or giving away any extra grains to keep my production easy. In addition, there is a difference between cows with A2 vs A1 protein, A2 being easier to digest. Much of the milk sold in the US is a combination of these A1 and A2 proteins, but if you get your milk from a Jersey cow farm - the milk will be all A2.

I’m so glad you shared this! I lack a diagnosis, but I’ve had issues with pasteurized and store bought cow’s milk in the past. I didn’t want to give it up entirely... I would do well with certain dairy products, but poorly with others. I knew it was an issue of microbiology and/or immune response. So I did what I always do, and played with some ideas. (I own a few dairy goats for milk and cheesemaking) I’ve been making kefir from raw milk from a small local dairy farm for about a week now. Water retention is down and I’m *craving* raw vegetables (not my go-to for quite a while). So far, combining kefir grains from a store bought freeze dried source plus live (non-dormant) grains from an “organic” source are a win. I don’t know the proportion or presence of a2/a1 in this farmer’s milk, but I feel like I’m onto something good and lasting.

I just started making kefir (2nd successful day with new grains.) I've been drinking store bought flavored kefir for a few months, so my stomach got used to it and I'm also lactose sensitive. I don't have good eating habits, little fruit little to no veg. maybe a salad. Lots of grains and meat. I make 32oz of kefir a day and I do a 2nd ferment in the fridge for 24 hours which produces a thicker, creamier and milder plain kefir (highly recommended). Kefir on it's own is a bit much for me, but the smoothie counters the taste completely. First recipe I'm using as I like sweeter smoothies. Ingredients below are mostly organic. 1. Pinch of spinach 2. Heaping pinch of kale 3. 2 cups of strawberries 4. 1 large banana 5. 1 cup of blueberries 6. (2tbsp) Hemp seed, flax seed and chia seed 7. (2tbsp) peanut butter 8. 2 cups pineapple juice 9. 2 tbsp of monk fruit sugar 10. Any additional things you want to add This should produce nearly 32oz of smoothie, add water or juice to thin it out or fill it to 32oz. 50% kefir and 50% smoothie mix, split in 4x 8oz cups and drink for breakfast lunch, snack and dinner if you like. The smoothie mix will last 2 days. Second day of home kefir and smoothie mix and my stool is green and already improved. Looking forward for the 30 and 90 day results. I expect to drop 20-30 lbs from this in the next 2 months.
@Dalik1000
@Dalik1000 3 жыл бұрын
Update after two months. Lost 20lbs Got my kefir factory down to a science now, all my kefir first and second ferment is done in the fridge for quality control and I make 32oz batches at a time. I've made kefir cheese which turned out really good. I used the cheese and combined with salsa and water crackers for a good dipping snack. Whey is recycled into the smoothie if I make cheese. If I have whey in the jar as it sits in the fridge during second ferment, I will shake the jar and combine before adding it to the smoothie. Make sure you burp the jar after a shake so the jar doesn't explode. 80% of my meals is smoothie (mostly fruit and bunch of spinach) and the other 20% is usually a salad and once or twice a week I will have meat(steak or chicken). So far it's going well and I highly recommend kefir smoothie diet.

@@Dalik1000 how u make it from grains i got some
@Dalik1000
@Dalik1000 2 жыл бұрын
@@setme4ree If your grains are dehydrated (bought from a store), follow the instructions to hydrate them. This process took me 3 days till they produced a full 32oz jar in a 24 hour period with a tiny amount of grains. If they're from someone else grains that they've been using, you can toss them in a glass jar (32oz), fill it with milk, NOT ultra-pasteurized. I use whole milk but 1% or 2% pasteurized milk is fine. Each batch should take 12-24 hours depending on temperature and how many grains to milk ratio till the milk gets thick, so experiment with it. You will see pockets of air, separation from the milk and jar at the bottom and it's ready to be strained. Shake the jar a little and you can see if the milk is runny or thick and if it's ready it will jiggle at the top. Longer you ferment, you will start to see the whey and curds separate. If this happens, don't stress the kefir is fine. You can make cheese or after straining and put the kefir and whey in a new jar, shake the whey and curds and it will turn into creamy kefir. At this point I strain the kefir, move the grains back in the empty jar, fill it with milk and let it ferment. The kefir I just strained gets moved into a new jar and let it sit for at least a day in the fridge before drinking. I have 1-3 jars doing a second ferment as I go through a far bit of it. The kefir will keep in the fridge probably for 4-8 weeks. I do my first ferment in the fridge to slow it down and I take it out of the fridge if I want to speed it up or as I want the kefir to be ready when I'm home to strain it. For the first ferment I use cheese cloth and a metal ring so it breaths, otherwise you will need to burp the jar so it doesn't explode. The second ferment I use a plastic lid and it will create gas but it's very little that gets released. Watch a few videos on it but overall give it a few weeks and you should get a working system. kzbin.info/www/bejne/iXmafZKQm7uIaaM&ab_channel=DonnaSchwenk

My entire lineage for the last 5 generations that we can recall all lived on farms consuming raw milk daily. They all lived long and healthfully. It’s sad what dairy is in the USA and a few other countries. Luckily there are a few companies making higher quality dairy, grass fed and organic. After moving to USA I also have issues with digesting bananas, avocados, coconut, pineapple etc etc

There are a lot of channels using the couching, training, health guiding..etc and they always use thumbnails and channel names that try to sound as legitimate as possible and unfortunately I got this vibe from this video. Let it be more casual. You will attract the attention of the viewer more. In my case at least. Off to ferment some milk. I live in Ohio and it is illegal to sell and buy raw milk here, so I use pasteurized whole milk, but NOT ultra pasteurized. I started drinking kefir 3 months ago after reading about its health benefits. What I didn't realize was how it would affect me overall. I suffered from seasonal allergies for which I was taking two medications for, otherwise anyone would think I was coughing up a lung from the prolonged, hacking coughing. I have high blood pressure for which the prescribed medication was doubled from 10mg to 20 mg because it was not helping. The increased dosage was helping slightly, but my blood pressure readings were still too high. Both my parents had hypertension and though I don't smoke, drink or use drugs, eat a healthy diet and exercise, which I have done throughout my entire life, I still was affected by these health issues. I also had minor joint pain when walking, but a daily dose of 1 tsp of turmeric relieved that, and, I have osteoporosis in my spine, which you wouldn't know from looking at me as it was caught early, and I am also on medication for that. 1 month after drinking kefir, my blood pressure readings, which I do myself, had improved, but still a little high. 3 months of drinking kefir, my blood pressure readings are normal. I still take my medication, but as I stated above, before kefir, my bp medication barely helped, with kefir, my bp is normal, and I don't mean close to normal, but actually normal. My coughing from seasonal allergies stopped after one month of kefir and I no longer need medication. No more joint pain. As for the osteoporosis, well, that will also require screening, but I have no doubt my bone density has also improved. I will discuss all of this with my nurse practitioner as she is unaware I am drinking kefir. I'm sure she will be shocked when she takes my blood pressure. I intend to ask for the dosage to be decreased as I am sure she will not stop the medication after only three months of kefir, and I'm fine with that, for now. Though I wish I had known about kefir sooner, I'm glad I found it when I did, when what I was really looking for was a KZbin video on how to make yogurt, which led me to other videos on kefir, which I had never heard of. I also make my own yogurt, and like the kefir, have both every day as regular parts of my diet, though I use fat-free milk for the yogurt.

Great video. I am a newbie to kefir. Is there a difference in organic whole pasteurized milk and organic ultrapasteruized milk? Any insight is greatly appreciated!!!

Unpasteurised is better as it is not heated whereas pasteurised is heated which kills the good enzymes
@faithfarmforever4795

pasturized milk in my honest opinion is useless - the heat process kills All the good things that God put in it are killed off and you are left with no nutritional value - not to mention all the manmade chemicals and junk they add to it. Finding raw milk can be difficult but to me its the only way to go - we can usually find raw milk sold as "pet food" - there are many videos on the truth of what store bought pasteurized milk is and isn't - hope this helps..

Very informative vid, thanks! I hope you'll tell us what is your blood type? Long story why that could be significant for your past digestive problems and I'll explain if you wish. Btw here in Hawaii we have no raw milk available so I make Kefir from organic UHT milk, 1% fat which is probably from A1 (Holstein) cows. For many years I made Kefir from raw goat's milk from a herd I had at the time and I must admit I feel about the same on the Kefir from UHT milk as I did on the raw goat milk kefir.

Is kefir sold in grocery stores in the United States? In Ukraine, kefir is sold in any grocery store, there is always kefir in the dairy department and almost all people drink it. Any dairy producer, always has kefir in their product line. I personally love factory kefir and buy it almost every day, it is very tasty. I have tried homemade kefir made from grains and it seemed kind of gross to me

For Eastern Europeans it's almost comical how these Westerners discovered kefir in the 21st century. Plus you do understand that even the crappiest UHT milk when inocculated with kefi culture, it becomes a powerhouse of microbial goodness, right? You don't need raw milk for this, it's the fermentation by the kefir culture that turns milk (raw or pasturized) into digestible kefir...

Elmo yogurt will be easier to tolerate (probably) than milk because of the fermentation. Yogurt usually has a lot of added sugar though, so just be a little weary of that
