Should do this video with a symmetrical ball. The ion core, though symmetrical visually is still an asymmetrical ball. (Not saying the video is misleading, but I fear people will just assume this is symmetrical and that there will actually be a difference post drilling in symmetrics drilled upside down, as there was no mention to this being an asymmetrical ball).

You certainly could leave the 9-pin with the upside-down ball. I have left the nine on that hit with a 13-pound ball and my rev rate is under 200. On that high flush hit the ball always finishes over the 8-pin spot and that’s because the ball deflects left off of the three-pin. The only reason the nine falls most of the time is because some other pin hits it.

7 brands of Brunswick kinda does this with dot to prevent drilling through the pin, cool to see this done with regular drilled equipment

So @tvbowlingsupply, if it was a different kind of weight block in regards to shape, would drilling a ball with exactly the same numbers but upside make a difference unlike the Ion you did it to?

Remember folks: layouts don't make ball motion layouts make ball continuation. Layouts adjust how the ball goes through the pins.

What are the static weights based off of the cg location? That might be it. I wonder how a Rico layout would be on the Ion? I know you do them sometimes for yourself. How come the right side up ball makes that sound when rolling and the other doesn’t make that whirl sound?

For the ones that think layouts are bogus. You guys didn't listen to the explanation. Companies wouldnt endorse layout systems if they were bogus cuz its a waste of time and money compared to just showing off the bowling balls to strike 100% of the time and use click bait to get people to buy the ball. No point in x ways for a bowling ball selling point if they show all the stats. Might as well say THE 300 ball and heres why for every video.
