No dashboard and no HUD. Not a car for me. Wondering if it’s technically possible nowadays to do a small HUD strip with transparent OLED panel glued on the bottom of the window. Projector takes a lot of space and is expensive.
@sebbbi28 ай бұрын
Backseats seem a bit smaller than ID.3. And trunk is nowhere close to the 490 liter trunk in forthcoming ID.2. And range is only 475km with big battery. I was very interested about this car (AWD version), but it has too many downsides for me. Still waiting for something that is noticeably better than our ID.3. 500km range is the minimum and there must be a dashboard or HUD and 360 degree camera system for wife. Tesla unfortunately lacks those too.

Yes, having things buried in the menus can be difficult. But one benefit to the Android Automotive is that you have the "Hey Google" command available to you at all times and you can verbally direct the car to adjust whatever setting you want. Something most cars cannot do as well.

Straight away I know that wiper/indicator stalk will drive me nuts. Especially as you have to look at the infotainment to see where it is positioned, maybe they're banking on people leaving it on auto but that's not very safety conscious to make you look at the screen. My search to replace our ID.3 continues..

I drove one two weeks ago. Very impressed with the easy it drove, especially for the price. However the Sat Nav was terrible. It kept showing that I eas driving on adjacent residential streets rather than on the road I was actually driving along, therefore it kept sounding speed warnings even though I was driving under the speed limits. The dealership promised it would be fixed with a software update in the coming weeks. 🤔

My family has been *very* interested in this car - it is very similar size to our Chevy Bolt EV, and it is RWD. But sadly, it looks like the longer front hood has reduced the backseat legroom to a point that makes it a no-go for us. My son and I are tall - 197cm and 193cm respectively - and the EX30 ain't going to make it. I will probably get my deposit refunded ...
@carlfe48918 ай бұрын
Agreed, they chose more traditional exterior in a small footprint and it shows. Some people will like this and others won't. Bolt is very special well probably won't anything like it in the US again - very compact, very practical, sort of weird looking. At 180cm it is borderline sitting behind myself in EX30, but I actually had leg/knee room issues up front. The geometry up front didn't work for me. I find Bolt comfortable in every seating position.
@NeilBlanchard8 ай бұрын
@@carlfe4891 Exactly - the overall packaging is even more critical with a smaller vehicle. And it is also frustrating that GM has defaulted the Ultium platform to FWD. If the Bolt EV (or EUV) had RWD and significantly quicker charging, and if they can lower the Cd to

That's the exact reason why I cancelled my order. I ended up ordering the new facelift VW ID.4 as it's more value for price, quality and space. Its working out cheaper than the long range EX30 and has the same specs but even more. I'd have ordered the EX30 if it had more leg room, ID.4 is big but having taking it for a test drive is quite nice too
@NeilBlanchard6 ай бұрын
@@ClarionCaww Right - the ID.4 is a very comfortable car - I drove ours about 1025 miles over two days - ~350 the first day and about 675 the second day, and with adaptive cruise control, and the charging stops (which are pretty brief) I had no aches or pains at the end of the day. My son is nearly 6'-6" and he fits comfortably in the back seat. And that is behind me, and I'm about 6'-4", and vice versa.
