I Dropped Everything and Ran to the Flea Market!

I got a lead on a WEDNESDAY to stop what I'm doing and run down to a local flea market with some cash. Well that's exactly what I did! I was not disappointed.

Omega The Unknown! I loved that story as a kid in the ‘70s and collected every issue. It was about a boy that lost his parents in a car crash and they turned out to be robots, and this Omega hero keeps showing up in his life, but Omega never says a word - very mysterious! Anyhow, the series was cancelled and the conclusion of the story was featured in a Defenders issue (#77 I think) and years later, I finally bought the issue and found out the connection between Omega and the boy.

Man I never find flea markets like this, every one I see have legit dealers at them and they usually buy up all the books before it even starts. My problem is remembering all these first appearances, I'm alright at remembering covers but I know I pass up good keys from time to time just for not knowing or remembering significance. Hard to get the hobby to fund itself if you can't remember the good books lol

Nice haul! Should have watched this video before i went hunting. For some reason I always tell myself ASM 359 isn’t a key and pass it, and I came across a stack of four for a $1 each on Saturday. Live and learn lmao

I need to get off my very lazy a$$ and start combing this city I live in!!! I am 99.9% sure there are some flea markets I'm totally missing out on because I simply don't venture far. Which is ridiculous when you consider I live in New York freaking City!!! I used to have a honey hole at a second hand shop, where I was constantly finding great stuff but sadly that place has turned itself into a sports and game card shop because they fell in with the Pokemon and baseball card craze during the pandemic...Enough of my rambling on, great finds sir, not bad for a quick run during work because of a very understanding boss!!!

I love coming across super-cheap super-old books like that captain marvel. I have a Cheyenne Kid from Charleton from 1967 as my oldest book that I got for like $2 that I bought just because of how old it was. Just neat to have.

Have to say great finds , although i think your "comps " on a few of those were a bit high .. like wayyy too high on that Master of Kung Fu. You can get a nice copy for $20 ish ..That was an outlier of a sale ...and $50 on those Omega 1s a bit of a stretch... 5 nm copies recently sold for $72 total .. jus sayin..
