I love those Book & Record sets. Had some of those when I was little. I particularly remember the Man-Thing one. Nothing like giving the story of a depressed clown who wanders into the swamp and kills himself to a kid too young to read on his own. 😅

It's not well known. But people often give comics to fleas. Unfortunately they can't read. So they sell the books. Thankfully they don't use then in confetti cannons!

It's rare to find those Read-Along comics with the record and even rarer to find four different ones all together and complete. Thanks for highlighting the Marvel reprint titles like Marvel Tales and Marvel Super-Action, and DC's Silver Age Classics - they were a cheap way for us to read comics which had become unaffordable in their original release. Atari Force was a really fun title; the two main creative teams could have just coasted along but instead they went to the effort of developing appealing characters, interesting stories and effective art.

That ASM 257# is the 2nd appearance of Puma, but the first appearance of Ned Leeds as Hobgoblin. Nice haul. It’s been awhile since I’ve found much at a flea market but I’m not giving up.

Definitely an amazing haul! It is very rare I ever get that lucky when I go hunting, however, no matter what I always find a couple good books. One of my biggest rules for myself is patience, sooner or later I will get the books I want so I just go and enjoy the hunt. Not too many good flea markets here in PHX which is surprising. Having been an ASM collector since I was 6, I am especially liking that 257 you got, and all those read-a-longs...very cool! Also, congrats on the new family addition!

I was at a pawn shop in a sketchy area in downtown Phoenix and they had x-men 98-120. No covers and all sun faded crumpled up shape. He wanted 10 each. I laughed right in his phucking face as I left.
