I gonna be back in Vietnam in December, which will be my fifth trip to Vietnam! I missed its delicious street food, I missed its spectacular scenery. I now understand why Anthony Bourdain (RIP) said, "Vietnam. It grabs you and doesn’t let go. Once you love it, you love it forever."

I did this journey, Saigon to Hanoi, back in 2012. I only had 3 weeks to do it and include Sa Pa and Ha Long Bay. I did it by bus and train. My first stop was Mui Né. It's worth visiting Mui Né fishing village early morning just after sunrise. The beach is full of women processing the product of the men's overnight fishing.

I know we Americans legitimately have the "accent" compared to The Queens English but, it was nice to hear your speaking Viet clearly. The OZ accent is still funny to me EVEN THOUGH I have OZ friends.

Most Vietnamese in the states reject their language at a young age because they think it is fob. He speaks English very well, probably born in oz, not Vietnam. But he also speaks Vietnamese better than most vk.

@@_-_-.-_-_ Most Vietnamese in America I grew up with either Escaped Vietnam or were Born in Immigration Camps in different parts of the world and totally embraced their language. More so, after Democrats tried blocking their Immigration to America and even more so when many of us Minority Groups formed "Protection Groups" to fend off violent racist "Asian Hate" from The Left. It gave everyone more a sense of pride. Being a FOB and New Wave Music were a sense of pride and something one could relate to with others- though that being said, everyone could joke towards one another about being one, All In Good Fun. At least here in California/ SoCal. That must be the Millenial Generation you speak of being ashamed, Bro.

When you’re in Da Lat the best Bahn Mi to try is in a bakery called Lien Hoa Bakery. It’s the one at 19 Ba Thang Hai, Phuong 1. They have foot long sandwich also. If you want good content!!!

Some people in Vietnam are so rude man. Went to Vietnam last year as a Viet kieu and some people are so rude. They stare without shame and when I asked for directions the lady just ignored me. They need to act like Thai people to attract more tourists.

Interesting about Banh Mi. I served in VN for 30 months in the middle 60s, and often ate VN food but I do not recall ever buying banh mi. I often had a bowl of pho or the chicken soup variety from mobile roadside stands, but no banh mi. Did it get more popular after the war ended? One of my favorites is banh xeo, but now with only four teeth left, I would need to pack a pair of scissors to cut everything into tiny pieces.
