I would actually like to move to Cimarron County in the panhandle at some point, I like to say that it's the last frontier of oklahoma

If you can find a job or are retired, it would be an interesting place to live.

Some years ago we drove across the panhandle from Dumas to Colorado. I was amazed. I need to go back with a tent and some fishing gear.

There area lot of great places to camp out there, from Beaver Dunes to Black Mesa. Thanks for commenting.

Nice job on the video! 64 hiway is my favorite way to go west, not crowded but the people you do see wave. It takes a hardy soul to live in an area like the pan handle, God bless the people who do.

Highway 64 is nice. There aren't as many trucks as the main road. You are right - it takes a hardy soul to live there!

My job used to take me through this area every 30 to 60 days for years. Surely beats working in a cubicle every day.

Ive lived in okc metro basically all my life, and i feel us city dwellers have no idea what oklahoma is actually like. I never knew oklahoma had dunes, mountains, and such interesting towns

Sometimes it is hard to visit the area around where you live. There are so many places worth a long weekend across the state.

Curious what drone you were using. Have been in that area several times. The bombing of Boise City was alway interesting

I use a DJI mini2. I got it at Costco for cheap but it takes great video and is easy to fly. I had never heard of the Bombing of Boise City - Thanks for sharing.

I would like to point out a couple of things. You passed through Turpin and made no mention of the town. It's actually divided up in 2 locations. One at the junction of 64 & 83, a convenience store, post office, and most important, a very nice school ! Very competitive in all aspects of a Pre-K through 12 school. I'm sure the people would have appreciated the coverage. The rest of the town is located near the Kansas border following U.S Highway 83. There you will find a few more businesses such as wrecker service, car dealership, oil well services, etc. Some might say it is on the outskirts of Liberal, KS. . . . . you also missed a few others just south of Turpin, Adams & Baker. Plus a few other towns west of Guymon. Goodwell and Oklahoma Panhandle State University, Felt, going into New Mexico . . . .The pronunciation of Boise City is not like Boise, Idaho. The "e" is silent, think "boys". . . . . I enjoyed living out there, it is something different.

Yeah, I drove right through Turpin but it looked interesting. Next time! It took me 12 hours to drive from Woodward to Black Mesa that day so I couldn't stop everywhere.

It's pronounced Bois city

OK, but is that along the line of the English word "boy" or a quasi-French-like "bwah"?

Yup there's no boys-E like Boise, Idaho, it's just pronounces boys(boise) city

NOT,…. BOISE, sounds like choice, at least 105 years ago when my great uncle Jim showed up, couple years later, showed up dead, robbed and tied to his horse, which returned to the dugout,

Oklahoma is not the wild west.
@planetbell111 ай бұрын
Have you been to the Panhandle?
@zachvanarsdale706511 ай бұрын
WESTERN Oklahoma IS the wild west 110%, eastern Oklahoma is the south. There’s a big difference between the two.
@jesseewalker51473 ай бұрын
@zachvanarsdale7065 I live in eastern Oklahoma ( midway down the state line) and while we have native culture we also identify as the south. I do love going to western Oklahoma and I think it's beautiful. If anywhere in America is the wild west, western Oklahoma is it😊
@AngelRivera-de1lqАй бұрын
The wild west doesn't exist in general anymore, but it definitely still has that wild west vibe

First of all oklahoma is part of the south, so that's the first thing wrong. Second of all, he didn't say a single negative thing and actually showed the beauty and diversity of this forgotten region. What video did u watch Holmes?
@olheghttАй бұрын
@@AngelRivera-de1lq I remember writing this. I'm on the road 9 hours a day. I listen to a lot of videos and sometimes comment when I get a chance. I also remember going to the content providers other videos and saw that nearly all the videos were on the subject of travel, and had almost all negative titles, (I think that was his thing for the channel). I just watched about 3/4's of this video, afterwards I looked at the titles of some of your other content.....and .....I have to say, you are NOT the content providers I thought you were. Apparently when I cycled back to comment, I stopped at you. Sadly, that was a mistake. I think this is a nice video and looks like some nice areas too. There is a somewhat well-known quote which goes "Not admitting a mistake is a bigger mistake".......I made a mistake........oh yea, my name is not Holmes
