The way you feel about hair dyeing is exactly the way I feel. It’s one of the only things fully in my control, it lets me reinvent myself no matter my mood, it lets me express my mind outwardly. I love it. But these last few months I haven’t had the means to maintain my hair or do anything with it really and I’ve been struggling with that so much, feeling helpless and kind of adrift and honestly a little pathetic that my hair could have such an effect on me. But it’s good to know that someone else feels the same way too.

Last Saturday on the 11th I lost a close member of my immediate family, since then I’ve dyed my hair twice… hair dyeing is relaxing, something we’re in control of and for me it’s a distraction and it completely affects my mood it’s completely normal to feel this way about dye. Do you have any advice for people with scalp conditions? I love dyeing my hair but am restricted to only doing the ends and not the roots in fear of hurting my extremely sensitive scalp.

@@icy6164 my boyfriend has a super sensitive scalp and we bleach his hair every couple months (I have videos of what we do to avoid his scalp getting irritated and sore if you’re curious) but I don’t ever use above a 20 volume, I wash it off really quickly (when it’s still bright yellow) so it isn’t on for ages, I use a non damage no peroxide no ammonia toner (I say which in my videos but I love shrine) and I use a deep conditioning hair mask right after he’s toned and leave that on for about half an hour. It worked really well, every time I’ve done his hair it’s got better and better. Hope this helps. If you want more precise details I do give them in my video, I just can’t remember like specific toners right now x

I started the year wanting to try something different cut my long hair short and bleached the hell out of it and experimented with different colors until and then got back to black recently and i feel like my old self but with a lot more experience and comfortable in my own self

This year has been a pretty shit one for me, turning 30 was meant to be fun. So I took a risk and decided to change from bright fuschia pink to soft blush pink. It took a whole weekend, a couple meltdowns and me feeling like it was an absolute failure..... but for my Mum and my Husband to both say that it really is nice made me feel better. I love the shades blue-black, violet-black and red-black. I used to dye my hair these colours when I was younger but now I'm too scared to dye my hair any shade of black because I'm afraid that I might regret it and I won't be able to remove it.
