Transition to Gray Silver Hair Gracefully

My mom wanted to transition to gray hair gracefully and no longer color her hair anymore. This process took us over 8 hours with multiple steps. Thank you @ArianaSin for working with me so we can finish this process with success. ✨First step is to extract and remove my moms oxidative dyes on her ends with a color remover. ✨Second step was to lighten her ends with #GuyTang #Big9 creme lightener with @Olaplex no1 and MyHero Collagen Powder. ✨ Once hair is lifted to a level 10 Apply @GuyTang_ Mydentity Demi color On Nape area: 1️⃣8SS SilverSmoke with 6vol 2️⃣8SS SilverSmoke + CrystalClear with 6vol On Top Section: 1️⃣SilverMoonDream10 with 6vol 2️⃣SilverMoonDream10 + CrystalClear with 6vol Process for 25mins 💕All colors #Olaplex No1 and GuyTang #MyHero Collagen Powder added in for protection and repair. ✨Shampoo and Condition With MyHero Nourishing System. Spray MyHero leave in treatment and then apply a small amount of the MyHero nourishing creme on ends and then blowout. ✨Style with MyPower HairSpray for hold with body and volume. ✨Take home maintenance for my mom is 50g of Olaplex No2 with GuyTang 10g of MyRefresh Silver Pearl To lock lock in color and close cuticle while coating outer layer with direct silver pigment for longevity til all her natural hair grow out.

Wow. That was totally awesome. I’m 63 now and stopped coloring my hair when I reached 60. It took almost two years for my white hair to grow out down to my shoulder length. I’m very happy with it now. Actually, people always ask me if I dye my hair and what color. I tell them it’s my natural color. It so happened that my hair color is ash gray with streaks of black and silver in between. Since, I don’t put any strong chemicals on my hair anymore, it became healthy and shiny. A lot of people appreciate my hair more now than when it was artificially colored.

I must add that your mom has Asian hair which is stronger than a lot of other ethnic groups, so damage will not be as severe. She is so lucky to have a beautiful head of hair. Great job. She looks fabulous

To anyone wishing to grow out your grey/silver. Just do it! While it would be nice to have someone make it go faster, it’s also really expensive. If your hair is naturally dark, you will see demarcation lines but that will pass with time. If your natural color was light, you will barely notice it. It just looks like highlights as it grows out. My hair grows fast and I was naturally blonde so it was easy. Either way, just give it time, keep cutting off an inch every two months or so and soon you will have a full head of grey. It is the most freeing thing to never have to color your hair again. I’m 70 and I love my natural hair. It feels thicker too because grey is more coarse.

Absolutely gorgeous, that's exactly what i want to do. I'm so tired of touching up, but ive had bad experiences at salons in phx, & tucson, AZ and my daughter's always so busy, my mom is too old to help me i think, but she still colors her own hair at 77. I'm 53, I'm not mostly gray, but have enough of it that I'd love to just do what you did with your moms hair. Gray is in anyway, my daughter and daughter in law have done there hair gray last year but they are always dying it different colors. My hair is dirty blond/light brownish gets lighter in summer, & darker in winter & definitely has hints of silver in crown i let it grow out this last year. Your mom is gorgeous! Love your hair too it's Fabulous! Going to follow this tutorial once i get needed supplies! & some friends over to help, that i know have cosmatology training, but insist they follow your tutorial! Since they've retired, work out of home on side a little for extra jncome.
