i couldn't bare these roots any longer so i gave in! again, i don't recommend just anyone to bleach their own hair but you wanted to see how i do my own so here you go.

I bleached my roots back to platinum last weekend - first time I have done my own in a decade - and I have beaded weft extensions in. I also used the Blondeme bleach and developer, but just went with a 20 vol to keep it low and slow - and honestly - it turned out awesome! I think I'm going to be doing my own from now on. The blonde me toner in Ice brought me to a perfect shade of platinum - not purple, not grey, no gold - totally recommend that toner!

Hi can I ask how long you left 20 vol in? And did you use heat or anything?

@@sb4483 I left it in about 45-50 min; probably could have rinsed it out at 40? For the record, I'm not a hairdresser - I believe the manufacturer's recommendations are up to 45 min.

@@sb4483 I didn't wrap it up in anything, no. I was too afraid LOL.I have some breakage at the crown of my head from wearing a high ponytail when I workout, and didn't want to make it worse ☹️. I actually ran a little coconut oil through my ultra damaged spots before colouring. I would say my natural hair colour is probably a level 6 for reference.

Rubbing the toner in on your roots is super harsh on your scalp love. Be careful. Looks great tho! I’m sure another tone and purple shampoo will get the last bits out.
