I participated in a Beerio Kart tournament and we were put into teams of 4 and each race, the DD had to drink part of their beer/seltzer before starting each race. It's single elimination, starting with 24 teams, and each round was 1 GP. Playing serious Mario Kart 8 deluxe was definitely a change of pace but I think you guys will enjoy!!

LOL Troy literally altered the way the finals went to make it seem like they tied GP1. In actuality, Troy's team thought thought they had won the 1st GP (best of 3), as the Tourney's rules stated that The team with the highest scoring individual would win. After a 20-30 min debate, Tevin decided that the teams would instead have a tiebreaker race. Troy's team lost the race on Sweet Sweet Canyon and everyone (especially Katana) was pissed. Down 0-1, Troy's team won a 7 round series of Renegade Roundup, a game mode that no-one one the team other than Mankalor had played more than once. The 200cc GP at the end of the video is what subsided next when the teams were tied 1-1 in the match. A lot more drama ensued than what actually happened; No shots fired at Troy, as it makes the best sense to leave all that "stuff" behind.

In reality there were no rules regarding a tie ,it a was quoted only after the final race Troy and Kitana did not agree with it at first, when they understood that it allowed them to win they ended up finding this rule as legitimate If Bear would have known about the rule then he would have just had to front run and let a teammate drink for him. And while I think Troy, Mankalor, Chiz and Kitana won legit in the end, I find it sad to see them being toxic.

From what I could find, the tiebreaker regarding “the one with the most points” was written vaguely and both sides interpreted it differently. The tourney rules (I think under Bear’s VOD) don’t mention a tiebreaker, so Tevin probably made the call on the spot (like Azurkyoko said). Bear’s team assumed it was the team with the most points going into the tie. This is why Bear was bagging on N64 Rainbow Road, i think. Troy’s team thought it was the individual with the most points in the event of a tie. Since Troy had the most points at the end of the GP, their team thought they won. So can’t fault any of the players for what happened imo, except the tourney organizer for unclear rules.

@@Solarisen If you’re faulting Troy’s team for toxicity, you need to also fault some of Bear’s chat for toxicity, too. Bear and his team had good vibes tho (but I could be biased bc I like the FWOB cast). I do think Troy’s team did seem to misattribute some blame onto Bear, since I don’t think Bear had a hand in the rules. Both teams just had a misunderstanding because the tiebreaker situation was unclear. The battle mode twist following it even more so. On both sides, it was hard to watch those sections, so I’m glad it all came down to the 200cc showdown in the end.
