I retired from triathlon years ago and started golf. I joined a country club and would jog every day. The guys there would look in awe as I finished 18 each day. My best round was 89 in 1 hour 45, I think it was 6.9 miles total. Yardage on the course just under 7000 yard. I just found this video! I am just amazed this is a sport. I had no idea but always thought it would be a cool test of skill. I haven't played in a while, I quit when I got to 10 handicap last year. The sport got boring for me to practice short game just to drop to single digit handicap. Great video thank you!

KZbin really gave me a good recommendation for this one. You got guts to just sign up for this thing in the first place so good on you. I love golf, but hate running. However, this is extremely inspiring. Totally makes me want to get all my buddies I golf with to sign up for a tourney and give it a shot. You would also love the 14'' pink putter I one hand putt with haha. Great round of golf in competition tho, especially for a 1st crack at it. I think we all learned about that 'Pain Cave' really early on in our Speedgolf careers. Tough to hit that wall and force yourself to continue. I have since tried to stay off the gas those first 3 or 4 holes and just fall into a good solid pace around 8:00 miles, or 10-11minutes a mile with the golf shots, and i try to cheat the timer by being fast in that 'Hit Box' Range. Steal a few seconds here and there. It's the only way to get close to guys Like Luke and Scott at the top of the leaderboards pushing sub 40 for the round and shooting near scratch! Great Video!

I used to regularly finish 18 holes in ~90 minutes if the groups in front move out of the way. I was hitting an honest 100-105ish and using a cart - typically on a weekday before work at previous job (thus the rush and interest in just 'playing' vs. perfecting every attempted shot.). Far more fun than a 2.5-3 hours 18 to improve by 5 shots.

So seeing this for the firs time i got a couple questions. Do you have to carry your clubs in your hands? What if you had that runner suit where you could put the clubs in your back with the handles out your left side, It really wouldnt affect your swing holding it like that. Plus you can grab your club as you need them and put them right back on your body. No wasted motion picking up clubs or carrying them that way. Also wow HIO amazing. I feel if you run more during your drivers, causal jogs during your chips/puts, you could conserve a lot more energy running. Im no runner and way WAY outta shape to do it. But was a thought as well. Control and breating is a huge issue prior to a swing, so would figure where you want the most control/accuracy is where you want to pace yourself more to catch your breath. Would love to see more of this. Looks like so much fun to watch.
