I etched my first PCB! Well almost

I am always excited to learn something new. This is a skill i've always wanted to learn since I build my circuits on perfboard. It didn't come out perfect but non the less I salvaged the circuit in other ways. If you have pointers on how to make better transfers leave a comment below.

Great work fixing the fractured traces and reinforcing the eyched wires by tinning. Please get some vinyl gloves to protect your hands while working with those chemicals. They are caustic!

Nice project! I designed quite a few etching projects for Eurorack modules. Some tips: use cheap but extra glossy printing paper. Print with laser printer. Sand your copper layer before adding toner with fine grain. Dont touch the copper layer between cleaning and toner transfer. Put the iron on fairly hot, add the tonerpaper on the pcb and press as hard as you can for 2 minutes with the iron. Use some soft paper between the iron and your work so the heat and pressure is equaly distributed. Check if your iron is flat and has no holes, else change the position of your iron each 30 seconds and press again

@@Afrorack if you can get one cheap enough, a laminator works a whole lot better than an iron, giving you much more even heat and pressure.

Very informative to see this process, thanks! It never occurred that the etching process removed most of the copper, I always assumed this was an additive, not subtractive process. Looking forward to hearing the new filter in action.
