So they explained this last season, but it's explained better in the manga. Genya has the ability to temporarily turn into a demon and gain passive regen by consuming demons. His strength and regen get better the stronger the demon he eats. He has special digestive organs and jaw strength that allow for the transformation. In the demon slayer world, this is a rare ability you have to be born with to allow for this. While never outright said, I've always interpreted this ability as a rare genetic mutation. Demons have been around for over 1000 years, so it makes sense that the human body would try to adapt to demons.

Honestly sanemi is such a tsundere man, he just wants genya to stay away from all this even if it means injuring him beyond recovery Also this is just a personal opinion but maybe the reason why sanemi don't get along with tanjiro is because in his case he had to kill his mother after she got turned into a demon but tanjiro didn't, and is living with nezuko even after she became a demon, maybe that makes his feel more guilty of the decision he took that day

I actually quite enjoy how the anime decided to portray the current half of the "training" of the Hashira Training arc; when it came to Uzui's, Tokito's, & Mitsuri's training, the manga only showed Tanjiro quite literally breezing quite through them quickly for all 3. Fun fact: Tanjiro protected two people he really cares that have demon traits (Nezuko and Genya) from Sanemi's beating mode. One thing I want to say is Sanemi is the opposite of Tanjiro as a brother (both of them have only 1 sibling that survived the slaughter of a demon but kept the genuine good humanity with their demon traits) the way I see , Tanjiro decided to keep Nezuko closer to him to protect her from potential danger no matter where he goes as for Sanemi he decided to stay away from Genya to protect him I believe he never wanted his brother to be demon slayer corp because that will put his life on the line that makes him more frustrated but he deeply cares about Genya he wants his bro to have a better life somewhere else but what Tanjiro factually said he has no right to force his brother what to choose on what he wants to be even if doesn't have the talent (he has talent just not breathing techniques like most Demon slayer characters)

People who are hating on Sanemi so today I will answer them : 1. Why not Sanemi could have talked Genya to not join the Demon Slayer Corps ? Sanemi wanted genya to hate him because Sanemi thought that if he died one day then Genya would definitely take revenge for his brother, which Sanemi definitely not wanted. Sanemi wanted Genya to live peaceful live that's why Sanemi wanted Genya to hate him. 2. Sanemi was about to blind Genya, which is not justified at all ? Because No one was able to find Nakime's eyeball in the entire series because it was made for the purpose of hiding, but Sanemi found it just by a slight sound. Do you really think sanemi wouldn't know tanjiro was there ? Come on Bro, He is literally Hashira. I think Sanemi was checking whether Tanjiro will save Genya or not if he attacks Genya. And when tanjiro came to protect genya, Sanemi sure that Tanjiro will protect Genya 3. Why Sanemi was beating tanjiro If Sanemi was sure that Tanjiro would protect Genya ? I think Sanemi was beating Tanjiro on purpose. Sanemi knew that tanjiro hate Sanemi ( But tanjiro didn't ) and tanjiro is good friend of genya. Becoming a demon slayer could also be Genya's personal choice so Sanemi was interfaring ? First of all, Being a Demon Slayer cannot be anyone's choice. All the slayer become Demon Slayer for some purpose. And Genya's purpose to demon slayer is the same as Sanemi, "To Protect and Care his Only Brother" which Sanemi not wanted at all. Not surprised inosuke was already there. The Hashira's probably loved how zealous and fearless he is and hes likely more flexible than mitsuri. The arc must have been a breeze for inosuke and probabbly even Kanao.

Actually each Hashira has their own specialty in some sense Mitsuri is the most flexible and has Obanai the best swordsmanship

​@@csegovia8846 he's close there but Muichirou's specialty is actually movement speed control esp swift and sudden shift of movement speeds between slow and fast. Hence why Muichirou's uniform design is a baggy clothing to obscure his movements esp his limbs and the overall nature and mechanics of Mist breathing, particularly his own creation of 7th form of his breathing, Haze.
