I love Nikko. During the Meiji Era, the lake district of Nikko was popular as a summer resort and winter ski resort, with villas of European embassies such as Great Britain, Italy, Belgium and France. Since then, this area is called Japan’s Lago di Como.

It looks similar, albeit with less traffic than lake Como and no ferries that take you to Switzerland

Summers in Japan are no joke. I visited in August 2018 and it was heat and humidity on a level that can’t be described. It’s already 93 and it’s not even August yet. It may get even hotter. I can’t imagine. Visit Japan in November when autumn leave start showing. It’s nice and cool weather, it’s not peak travel season so there should be less tourists there. I want to go during this time of year but I also want to visit my brother who lives and works in Japan. Just like everyone who works in Japan, he can only take an extended time off work in August.

Perfect to lose weight I don't mind the heat.. the humidity is something elese however...yikes ...I can't stand winter in Japan... I know it goes as low a 32F (rarely in Tokyo.. as low is usually 40f) somehow it feels colder

I love this train. It would make a fabulous intercity train here in France and the rest of Europe. And I have to visit Nikko one day. I live in a seaside resort on the Atlantic, north of Spain. It's really pretty here, but the landscape around Nikko and the waterfall is fantastic. I would have to spend several days there. Thanks for the video! I enjoyed the ride. Oh, and those Premium Seats remind me of pumpkins more than eggs. 🧡

Thanks for the wonderful video. I was there in Feb 2020, just before the pandemic. Freezing cold day with snow flurries but loved every minute, especially the Shinkyo bridge and Toshogu shrine. Was pretty quiet because of the weather. Went to a ramen place, a hot bowl of noodles 🍜 was just the thing to warm up. Keep up the great work!

I was there in mid September this year and it was still 35 degrees with 90% humidity. For a Canadian, this was unlivable, and I had to come home after 3 days. I just came back from a two week trip that began at the end of November. It was 18 degrees and sunny ( but cool ) the whole time. Perfect weather. I would love to live in Japan, but not when it's that hot and humid for half the year.
@deadby15 Жыл бұрын
Things weren't that bad in the past. Like, 50 yrs ago, 30 degrees was considered a hot summer day. Now it's 34-35. Global warming and modern building materials made the city quite unbearable in Summer.
