Fantastic you have visited - I have been doing bonsai since I was 13 and have been studying the art form in Japan. Omiya and the bonsai museum is such a cool place to visit.. been there many times..and many people visiting Tokyo do not know about it.. and it is just a 45 min train ride from Shinjuku! THANK YOU for spreading the word :-) Hugs from Denmark

I wish to see this village up close. Also I hoped to see the 1000 year old tree. What happened? They didn’t let you take photos of it? Why some of the garden’s didn’t allow photography?
@emmaterra Жыл бұрын
Because the mantis cave is also considered a highly religious shrine, they did not allow photography of it out of respect to the shugendo religion so I wanted to respect that. Definitely recommend seeing it for yourself though!

With all due respect, the two large trees seen at the 1:54 and 1:55 marks are AI generated and were called out as such last year when the images were on Facebook.
@emmaterra10 ай бұрын
I wish I had known that before using those images in this video. Its so hard to tell these days whats AI generated or not - eeee! 😮💨

@@emmaterra It often does take a bit of study to tell. Those of us with long experience with bonsai see something slightly off, but we can't always pinpoint it until we've really looked at the picture for a while. And feedback from others is always helpful. BTW, thank-you for the video. :)

I used these photos not realizing they were AI , how can you tell if a photo is AI?
@joshuadav1010 ай бұрын
@@emmaterraI'm terribly sorry for the super late reply. I didn't mean to be accusatory, it'll be a problem we face with increasing frequency in the years to come. In this case, it can be hard at first glance, but the main reason I could tell is because the bonsai in the photos defy most if not all bonsai conventions and, well, a lot of the leaves/branches aren't even connected to the tree and are floating in the air 😅 further still, if for example you look at the big tree, the one with the guy looking at it, the dirt doesn't seem to have anywhere to go in the table, it just doesn't make any logical sense, and a lot of its foliage is just floating in the air.
@sanitychelle7 ай бұрын
Unfortunate use of AI images for what is a beautifully historical subject. An easy tell is branches literally floating in the picture!
