New to OW in general. Legit feel like I learned more from this than a video of you just popping off the whole time. Seeing how you deal with positioning and when to engage when in a difficult situation, especially when you think out loud, gives a ton insight as to why certain decisions can be disastrous and while other provide advantage. Keep up the great content.

this video just speaks to the massive amount of variables in a game of overwatch that a lot of people overlook. You can be doing the right things but still look bad on the scoreboard. It's not always about popping off. I think its nice to know that even the best players in the world aren't constantly looking sexy on the scoreboard.

Well, the other doppelgänger Arrge had a pocket. But team composition is so critical. One team mate getting pummeled makes it a 4 v 5 and drastically shifts the odds in the favor of the other team. As a ball main, I see it often. I dive their backline and kill 1 or 2 supports but my team was annihilated on the front line. My stats lines are great but it doesn’t matter because my supports are dead. In these situation if no one can switch to counter, I try to switch to my off tank Sig or Ram.
@skarloeythomas5172
@skarloeythomas5172 11 ай бұрын
Unless you have a team that all operate independently and are mobile, that’s what happens with Ball. Either everyone focuses you and so they lose, or charge your team and you lose. So most Balls I see do change at that point.
@puppergump4117
@puppergump4117 11 ай бұрын
The problem with ball is that any character who deals cc counters you. That makes cree, rein, sugma, orisa, doom, ball, pig, bastion, sombra, soldier, ashe, ana, zen, ram, pharah, kiriko, brig, sym, monke, junker, and maybe a few more I can't think of. In other words, because multiple characters from all roles counter you, you need to take time to deal with every counter before killing the enemy. Whether it's waiting for cooldowns or hunting translocators, ball is heavily dependent on his team to not only help with those counters but also fight a 4v5 until you can engage without dying. And thus, the most critical team comp is simply swapping off ball for an easy win. This must be done before the toddlers start blaming you and throwing.
@andydodson3480
@andydodson3480 11 ай бұрын
I play ball a little different I do a ton of soft engages until we get a pick then I dive a specific hero I know any cc could possibly kill me.
@CB-yh3db
@CB-yh3db 11 ай бұрын
@@andydodson3480 - absolutely who you dive is extremely important as to when you dive them. I love it when my team communicates “Ana, no dart”…….”Hog no hook”. Obviously, the first rule of Ball is you scout the team before engaging. Some times, I am reckless and I am punished for it. Had a Sombra hack, Ana dart and an Sig Rock thrown at me all at once. Brutal.
@RemedieX
@RemedieX 11 ай бұрын
You should try peeling in anticipation for your team getting pushed, you could easily displace an enemy for a free elim there or to force out cooldowns, rather than going off on your own trying to be a hero. We're in a sustain creep meta and it has only gotten worse over time, so your goal shouldn't be to "make plays," it should be to take things a bit slower when you're defending, and when attacking, make coordinated attacks with your team or try to get enemies into their los with your drive. Ball is also a tank that requires comms/callouts more than other tanks. And remember, when you're off being a big hp pool deep in the enemy backline, the enemy, if smart, will ignore you even if it costs them some teammates, because it's more likely that they can do more than you can on your own in the backline. Ball is a tricky tank to make work, especially if below Masters. I see them work more in GM, but that's also where Doom works. Two tanks that don't really work in low ranks because it requires your team to compensate for the way you have to play, and you have to have insane gamesense as well. Ball has a high skill ceiling, (timing, positioning, target priority, callouts, etc. not mechanically, at least, I find his kit easy to use). Target priority shouldn't always be supports either. They take longer to eliminate in most cases beacue of their abilities promoting survivability, backline positioning, and passive. Sometimes, cleaning up a DPS is easier, and most importantly, potentially FASTER.

I like this. I’m glad you mention pulling enemies out of position and have them focus on you. It can change the game drastically. That enemy hanzo was going strictly after you first just because you had the same name. It was a good game and regardless of your stats I say you played well.

Amazing content as always, on the topic of gameplay I can relate to always trying to identify the most efficient position / target choice / crosshair placement etc, this match you played left me with the same feeling I’m sure many have had in their own games. In a lot of my games I find the team that is communicating more efficiently has a much higher chance. Overwatch being free to play can make the community less apt to giving every game 100%, all these things being said it could be good to try to include content where your team is communicating extremely well, as well as the opposite including some content where a team might not be communicating at all like in this video and comparing and contrasting. With your channel you have a great influence and could impact the community in a positive way by doing so. Thank you for taking the time to read this far!

This is a good video, I think. Attacking on hanzo can be difficult sometimes, especially if you have a tracer who's borderline throwing the match, meaning you're the only one applying pressure, but hanzo isn't at his strongest when his opponents are trying to dodge his arrows, so stats can seem like the hanzo isn't doing much but in reality all you need to do is exist sometimes. I haven't finished the vid yet, so idk if you win or lose, but regardless I think this was a good video so far (8min in). Reaper is similar in that sometimes all you have to do is exist to apply enough pressure and pull aggro from your teammates so they can get kills or take the objective when the enemy looks at you instead of teammates

Stats in OW are actually annoyingly designed. Good to remember that there's more to a strategy shooter than just getting "kills" or dealing high damage. For example, as DPS I once distracted an Ana with a Mercy pocket (weird I know) who were both hyperfixated on me after I annoyed them earlier. My primary goal was not to kill the supports or even live, but to keep them busy as long as possible while my team rolled the rest of their team and took the payload to point. Worked out beautifully, but I didn't get any kills or damage for like 20-30 seconds. Had I not taken advantage of that situation, we could have easily lost the match entirely. Sometimes it pays to play smarter and get lower numbers than to play stupid and get high numbers.

Arrge, being the 8K hours Hanzo is not the only thing that becomes part of your reputation as a streamer. You are actually very chill, keep your cool, interact with your community, and are very humble about mistakes done by you or the enemy. Give good advices through videos, and honestly, a very enjoyable content. Not necessary because it's always insane plays, but because you're being you. I'm a bit worried about how you overstress for your content having to be 'some way' in specific. Like, if you don't pop off, it's not an Arrge video. This one felt a bit like variety of "The bizarre competitive world of Arrge" with the situation shown in the video, but it was fun to watch! Next time if you want to switch to another character go for it. Big part of your content is Hanzo, but an even bigger part of it goes to be having fun. Enjoy what you do in your own way, i think everyone would love to watch you having a good time with a different character rather than struggling for a cool concept of video but that you're not enjoying

It is very funny how sometimes we feel like we are don´t nothing for the team, but in a balanced team always is going to be a Dps with more kills than the other. For example when I play with my cousin I usually play with Reaper and he with Sym, so meanwhile I flanking or helping the tank get kills he is in the backline helping the supports or telling us the enemy´s position. So he is gonna end the match with 9-11 kills meanwhile I end with 22-25 kills. When he wanna play agressive we switch jobs and we usually wins. So by that experience I can say that we play different roles that help the team in their own way. Pd: I think the scene you described before is one of the most famous of that character.

The anime he was talking about, I'm legit only able to think of Zoro from one piece cuz he the only one I've seen dodge a knife while sleeping.

I didn't know that arrge watches one piece. The moment he said a character sleeping while someone was trying to assasinate him with a knife I instantly realised he was talking about zoro 😅❤

This reminds me of the time I versed someone else named Slayer. I was tank and he was dps, I was doom, he was reaper. My team wasn't the best and they wouldn't take advantage of the space I made. We lost in the end, and the guy said in the endgame chat "Slayer diff." I've never recovered from that man, I wake up in a cold sweat in the middle of the night remembering those words he said to me. I don't have my manhood anymore. My pride is shattered and I can't look at my face in the mirror. The only thing that I have left is time. Time to train so when I see him again, I shall defeat him, and I shall say to him the words that made me shudder with disgust for myself. Maybe then I will be able to sleep at night. Maybe then I'll redeem myself. Maybe, but until then I train, to become the best Slayer that treads the mortal realm and the realms beyond.

1:33 you're talking about a green haired guy who dodged a knife right, if so then it's one piece not sure if you want to watch it since it's long but it's really good
