lol it does actually help, I’ve had plenty of experience talking to Spanish speakers in English and speaking proper English with an American accent will get you no where. Break the English down, add an accent and speak with emotion and they will understand they are not stupid.

Actually it does, since Spanish is a syllabic stressed language, we expect every single syllable stressed about the same. English doesn't work like that, so most native English speakers "drop" syllables here and there depending on what they want to emphasize (not actually dropping but you pronounce some syllables very softly it's like you didn't say them at all). So, when you do the Mexican accent, you unconsciously also stress every single syllable and that help us understand better.
