I can't tell my mom i have an anxiety disorder because she think's you're dumb if you can't rationalize your fears. My dad is a doctor who feeds comparison between us. "A month should be enough for you to prepare a final because it was for me and i didn't have as much time as you i worked and had kids". At this point my self esteem is nonexistant, last year i started therapy and a few months ago started working so in a way i could "buy" my independence and privacy, so i don't have to tell my parents my dates and grades (cause if they maintain me they feel they have the right to know). I know it's kinda late but I failed all of my 2nd year exams (7 in a week), while during my first year, out of 12 I failed only 2 of them. The thing is that most of the people like you with these experiences, had certain emotional circumstances that drove them to "fail". But I instead, had no excuse and I failed everything. My family still has the old-school mentality, where if you fail even just once you suck for the rest of your life. Not to compare, but my culture shares some similarities with a traditional Asian family. Anyways, i just finished watched ur video, cuz it makes me feel better and less alone. in a few days I have to find the courage to tell my family the truth straight away. Now idk what to do and I feel like a huge failure and disappointment, y'all don't know me but since I don't receive any from my family and I don't want to share my "depression" with my friends cuz they all are going through stuff, out of desperation I'm looking for some emotional support and maybe (hopefully) an advice from Anasia or anybody else who had a similar experience with uni.

But I pushed myself and in two weeks I managed to recover 5 subjects, after that I pushed again in my resist exams and passed all of them. I also failed most of my exams this semester and I was really hard on myself especially when I saw how many people passed. But I had a really hard year. I changed college, city and was practically homeless at the beginning. My mom got cancer and had a really hard surgery, my dad started to drink again because he couldn't deal with all the emotions and even threatened to kill himself and my younger sister who is still a minor had to take care of him because I was living in a different city. I’m a middle schooler and I wrote my exam for math recently, it’s one of the few subjects I suck at. I was so clueless and confused during the test, everything seemed like a whole different language. I’m really stressed and I haven’t been having enough sleep these days due to my worries. Most of the typical middle schoolers are determined and passing every subject with good grades. Update:(completed all retakes with a pass and got a 1st for the year. 3rd year here i come!!) failing my second-year 1st semester right now. am going to have to resit 2 whole courseworks and exams at this point. am confident I have the ability since I've actually tried to catch up and study it's just so stressful to be limited at 40% xd. hopefully, i've learned my lesson for the 3rd year which is 70% of the total grade just got to be strong and "do my best".

I was a good student in all my sems in computee science degree in college, in my last semester we were told to choose an optional subject, I chose business psychology since I was interested. Did quite well in all the internal exams getting a percentage of 90+. Fast forward to end SEM exam the teacher says she gives notes, I wasn't aware of that. Luckily one girl gave me her notes, only lets say she didn't know how to make notes and cut some of the important points. I can completely relate. Well done to you because people don't understand the mental strain relationships put on some people like us who cares more for others than we do for outselves sometimes. I went from a failure to finally succeeding in my studies. Basic degree no honours though but I got a job and now I've worked in IT for almost 2 years. I went through heartache when I began my course and dropped out. I tried again years later and the difference without the debilitating emotional strain was amazing. You did noit fail because you can't do it. You failed because most of your energy was taken up by someone who didn't deserve it.

I was about to change my major in my university, the process went for months, about 4 months and I ended up got rejected because they say I have no future in the major I wanted to change to. sigh. And then I didn't do my assignments, projects, exams and all because I was having mental breakdown, had to met a psychiatrist, was diagnosed with anxiety but had to stop treatment because I couldn't afford it. and here I am failing my 2nd year and trying to find motivation or at least wanting to know if there's anyone like me. I just failed an exam and I'm so depressed and I don't even know why. The exam wasn't even for my school grades it was for a class outside of school and I'm really slow and for both tests I didn't even finish the whole thing...so that's great. Today is the parent teacher conference and my parents already know about what happened and they expect a bad grade but...still. What's good is that they didn't get angry at me or anything, all they said was that "This isn't your school grade and I've made mistakes when I was little too, as long as you try harder to pick up your pace, you still have a chance of getting back on track." So I'm extremely grateful for that. I don't know how to face my teachers anymore though, I just want to crawl in a hole and die.

I completely relate. I initially pursued Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Sciences in university. High school was a breeze for me, but when I encountered chemistry in university, it triggered failure anxiety that led me to drop out of Uni within the 1st TERM. It was definitely a manifestation of my anxiety about failing. I then transferred to college the next academic year -> BAD MOVE, 1st TERM 7 out of the 8 exams I passed 1( which is anatomy). University offered fewer subjects but delved deeper into theory, which suited my learning style, especially with my ADD. However, college, with its multitude of tasks and subjects but less emphasis on theory, feels like a nightmare. Looking back, I wish I had stayed in university.

I was a good student in all my sems in computee science degree in college, in my last semester we were told to choose an optional subject, I chose business psychology since I was interested. Did quite well in all the internal exams getting a percentage of 90+. Fast forward to end SEM exam the teacher says she gives notes, I wasn't aware of that. Luckily one girl gave me her notes, only lets say she didn't know how to make notes and cut some of the important points. Exam goes bad and I fail by 2 marks, can't attend graduation ceremony, Failed and have to wait another year to answer the exam. Goodbye job prospects.

You have such a healthy perspective on life and failure. I wish I had the same view when I failed out of school (twice). I became severely depressed, suicidal, and eventually homeless. All of this could have been avoided if I had just taken my losses in stride...I realize that now after watching your vlog....over 12 years too late. Failed chem exam………… was feeling drained . I sat down and analyzed details of what went wrong. Here’s the plan and reminders. I hope you may take something from this, and you do the same. 1, Reminded myself many people have failed before, yet many of them succeed in the end. I belong to the group who failed, but got up and succeeded . I will anticipate failure, but still allow the fear of future failures to motivate me. 2, Can’t give up one the first try. No way. That’s who I am. 3, Get into the flow. Stick to studying one subject and one subject only for longer then 15 minutes without any distractions. This will allow me to study for the next 1 hour in flow state. 4, For exactly one hour read, for a review, each topics (separate each topic using flash cards ) and take notes from the textbook Attend the class participants as much as possible even it means saying the wrong answer. Once the class ends, AS MUCH UNCOMFORTABLE THIS MAY SEEM ,take a short 15 minutes break then for the next one hour rewrite and expand on my notes. 5, I admit it. I have slowed, my motivation has waned. There is no more excuses. I will be back on truck to following better habits, and getting my priorities straight. 6, IT MAY SEEM PAINFUL, BUT START ON WORKING ON THE THINGS YOU HAVE AVOIDED. START BY DOING IT BADY EVEN ONLY FOR 1O MINTUTES. If it essay , write a terrible first draft. If it is chem problem, do the problem even if you know you know you have yet to mastered the topic. 7.NO NO NO. This failure has nothing to do with my mental ability, or my future success. 8, IT MAY SEEM PAINFUL , BUT DO WHATEVER YOU ARE DOING MORE THAN ONCE!! Can’t complain of failure if you didn’t do something more than once. 9, YES, THERE MAYBE LEGITIMATE REASONS YOU ARE FAILING, BUT NO MATTER STILL KEEP GOING. 10, MEDITATE, RUN, etc. REDUCE STRESS AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE.

oh my goodness i hope you see this. i took 5 classes, a mandatory EDUC (Intro to college thing my school does) , choir - which graded you on attendance- (i misses so many days) ,DMAT2 Developmental math but the lvl 2 , and government which has loads of essays i didn't do. and psychology.. l so much reading, long story short i passed 3 classes and failed atleast one so far. i got kicked out of my house and had to put my dad in the mental hospital.

I started college 2021 fall. I failed my Gen Bio 1 class and I repeated it the next spring semester and failed with the same grade . I retook Fall 2022 and finally passed with a 72% . Honestly i felt horrible but with the kind of parents i have , they will scold you, and tell you that you have to keep working till you make it . They expect so much from me especially my father . Then came this semester i had Microbiology, Anatomy , Human and nutrition . Honestly the first 2 weeks of micro were okay until i actually didnt like the class . I honestly went in there everyday to try my best but i hated it . The teacher just spoke so much , the material was so much that we had to study, she didn’t simplify the notes . I thought of dropping out but my parents would never understand , they would expect me to move on. So i decided to fight through. But i just eventually failed . Took my last exam today and i failed. And even if i take the final i wont make it . I am devastated coz i have to go through all this again 🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️😒😒

I woke up today morning just to find out I got rejected by an university I really wanted to get it. It was my last hope. I gave many different entrances before none of them worked, in middle just few days back I got my results of graduation that wasn't good at all either, and today this.. I feel like a failure in life. I know people might say it's not the end, but those were the only unis that offered good education with good skills.. Others all aren't worth a penny. I really had tried my best but why is that best never in favour with my luck? I thought I was a good student.. but not anymore.. I haven't had any relationships in my life, not even flirting with anybody, not a friends- social kinda person either, failing my exams too now.. I suck at everything.. I know I should have faith, life doesn't end here, and such stuff but I don't feel any of that in me right now.. I feel like a complete disaster..
