There are two “flavors” of PSC modding. There is Autobleem as well as BleemSync. Autobleem doesn’t modify the stock software where BleemSync does.

i got one off ebay (pretty much new) for 30 pounds so thats about 40 dollars. with bleemsync it was really worth it tbf. i like the little console and the old school controllers even though they do feel cheap. i've been playing old school games all week from my favourite childhood console, so all in all well worth it.

The nice thing was that waiting for this long allowed the modding community to make the software better to the point where although I am grateful to have some Sandisk 4 GB flash drives to start the mods, I only had to spend an extra $8 for 2 OTG adapters that allows me to use my existing USB 3.0 flash drive with my entire game collection. I got it up and running. I use my Magic NS adapter with my Playstion 4 controller to play the games. The only thing that will make it totally awesome is when the ability to turn on the rumble in dual shock controllers is made. Maybe it is already here and I just have not found it yet.

Bought it from a friend a little cheaper than retail unopened. I was upset about not receiving an adapter with it, but I swap it out regularly with my snes classic and use the adapter and HDMI for the snes classic. I then purchased the true blue mini crack and meth pack bc I was too lazy to load my own roms. I highly recomend them. It is so simple. They are plug and play and when you unplug them, the system reverts to its original state.

I felt the same way as you, I was going to preorder it, but didn't like the game lineup, as so many people. Then last weekend I got one at Best Buy for $20, and got my 8gb flash drive, and loaded up Autobleem. Right now I just added the Crash Bandicoot trilogy and Crash Bash, Castlevania 7, Rayman 2, Tomba!, Batman Forever Arcade, and the first Spyro. I'll definitely add more once I get a bigger flashdrive.

I bought one of these when it went on sale for 20$ CAD (even less than the 20$ USD that MJR bought if for). The USB PS1 controllers will be great if I ever want to do some emulation stuff with PS1 (unlikely but it's an option) and being able to mod it with better games means it has a bit of value. Really though, it just sits on my shelf and looks pretty next to my other classic consoles.

I think what's the most telling is how few of us Sony fans bought into this initially. The games list wasn't just unappealing to me. It genuinely seemed unappealing to pretty much everyone. Too bad. I think we all wanted them to succeed, and I think there were multiple paths they could have taken to do so. Anyway, like you said, maybe they've learned enough to do a solid PS2 mini.

I got one for 16 quid from Amazon too. Got it set up with Bleemsync for OTG support and Autobleem (which I prefer) but I'm finding that the roms run way smoother in Retroboot/Retroarch.

Like yourself, love the minis in general. I even camped outside for an NES mini when they did a short run. Just not a fan of dropping 100 bucks for a piece of plastic that can be easily emulated elsewhere. I bought one around the same time you did, and I'm glad I did. It was extremely lackluster for $99, but for $20 I saw it as a steal. The mod community has came a long way, and it's a great system for being able to run my GBA games on it. Gonna try out some different wired controllers I have lying around so that I can try to play some N64 games. And as much as I really want a PS2 Classic, it scares the ever-living SHIT out of me. With such a large library of really quality games, I feel like 20 games wouldn't be enough to do it justice. I can think of at least 30 games I would want on the system, and even then I'm sure my list would be different than others.

Picked it up on release day. Hacked it. Love it. When it went to $20 I did pick up a second one as a backup. I also have the SNES Classic and NES Classic all hacked to play their libraries. The SNES also plays the Genesis library but I will be deleting those soon when the Genesis Mini is released and is inevitably hacked. T16 is also on preorder. The only couple I don't own is the atari and the commodore 64. The atari has been out for years and I'm just not feeling it. I didn't grow up with a commodore 64 so I don't have any nostalgia for it.

I just got a PSOne (later edition of the PS1) and am enjoying some good games and a proper controller for the same price as a Mini. Regarding the PS2 Mini, it's harder to emulate the later consoles due to the leap in performance. MVG said that an N64 was not going to be economical when compared to the price of the Switch. I wonder if the PS2 Mini wouldn't be the same.

It's not that Sony just "decided" not to put all your fav games on the console. It's not completely up to them what games they add to the device it's also about licensing from each game developer and the cost of that (if it is possible at all).

The fact that it doesn’t come with everything you need to hook it up and begin playing right away is absolutely absurd. I can’t blame people for believing it to be a quick cash grab based off nostalgia, when it appears most of the games are poorly optimized and questionable overall library. That being said the system itself and controllers look super cool and it would make a fine addition to say the NES and SNES classic for any collector of games/gaming hardware.

Weird idea for a PS2 classic (or anything from that console generation)... the controllers themselves housing some of the components. Don't get me wrong, it's a dumb idea that people will quite rightfully hate due to gamer rage and increased peripheral price but you could see a version where the games are pre-loaded to different controllers. Basically a plug-n-play that needs a docking station. Collectors would love it if the controllers were themed with unique decals for each set of games though.

The size(amount of games) of the PS1/PS2 library is working against this product. It is very hard to pick 10, 20, 30 and so on games that are the "best" ones for this kind of product. Everyone who grew up with these excellent machines have a very different story, and that reflects back on what kind of games MOST people are willing to buy a console like this for. It is wildly different from person to person what games they want. And games for the PS2 is just too big for a cheap "offline" device. It is more strategic for Sony or other companies who made games for the PS2 to release remasters and remakes for the current generation instead. Please vote this one up so people can finally understand. Also the biggest problem with the PS Classic is that it does not come with a charger. It is very picky and some people might not understand what kind of charger it needs. The games are not the issue as any game combination would be subjected to the same critique and "it does not have the game I liked" arguments. It is a tiny bit to slow for the job and the emulation is not perfect. But no emulation is.

Got it half price and even when I used Autobleem to add games it was still nowhere near an original PS1 with a HD upscaler. And the audio is terrible on the Classic which is ironic considering the PS1 was known for it's CD audio.
