Hello, I listened carefully to the song, but I do not hear the two bells in which you explain in minute 6 of your video. I've always thought that's how it's played, but I can't find that in Ringos particular beat. Please tell me at which second of the song you hear RRLL.

That’s amazing! Your simplification technique is precisely the technique I used years ago playing in a Beatles cover band. I knew it was not 100% correct, but I could never figure out exactly what it was that Ringo was doing. And in all of his live videos, he did not play it the way he recorded it. He had his own simplified version, as well, by playing straight quarter notes on the bell.Then again, that was before KZbin!

Sweet dude. Like your variation. Close enough for me and I can groove that beat. 👍

Excellent breakdown. Always loved Ringo's playing on this. The feel was elusive and I seriously never caught (didn't realize) the fastest part preceded the 2 ... with the left hand ... on the rack tom? I always had the impression it was a fast Latin riff on the ride cymbal (as suggested in your adaptation). Thanks for setting me straight.

Love it ! Thanks:)

If you watch videos of Ringo playing this, he is playing the tom on 1 and 2 and the snare on 3 and quarter notes interspersed with eighth notes on the bell. Least that's what it looks like to me.

Thanks for this Rob; I'm depping for a Beatles tribute act soon and this song was giving me trouble but you've explained it in a really clear way.

Isn’t that 16th note figure in the second measure actually a drag on the cymbal bell? I’ve the heard isolated track and it sounds like that to me.
@bobc.5698 Жыл бұрын
I've never seen Ringo play the bell live like he did on the original.

Do you include the audio of the actual songs on your website? These lessons are good but without hearing the drums along with the rest of the instruments and vocals, makes it more difficult. Thanks.
@DrumsTheWord6 жыл бұрын
I don't include any of the music for copyright reasons. You have Ringo himself playing along to the original song and vocals if you want to hear it in context...but I do get your point.

@@DrumsTheWord Ok...I figured that might be the case. Would love a lesson on Paperback Writer. I'm struggling with the bass drum. Ringo is soooooo underrated! Thanks.

This was his best work, followed by the drum ideas in "Come Together". Other than that, he's just Ringo. Quincy Jones clowned him.

I think this version sounds better - kzbin.info/www/bejne/jaG8hWyEnbqSmtU Hi-hat and snare in the chorus, sounds great.
