@@chiefavagef0x837 maybe he didn’t out right lie, but he did deceive her. In the movie she talks about a time her car broke down and had to walk in the snow and cold. He offered her money to fix it but she didn’t take it because he had her convinced that it was all the money he had. She’s half mad because he’s been choosing to kill himself slowly rather than seek medical help, and half anger at having spent her own time and money when he could have been reimbursing her, taking advantage of her kindness and guilt.

He offered to help but since she thought Charlie had no money turned it down(obviously not knowing how much Charlie actually had) I think shes more mad that he chose to not help himself and was in the moment mad about a specific thing that crossed her mind but she mainly cares for Charlie otherwise she wouldn’t have taken care of him in the first place to even start, but to keep doing it and even having the unlikely even of having your car break down and walk through snow

I didn’t feel sorry for him tbh. Dude made the choice to abandon his kid (even if he didn’t love the mother anymore) and now regrets it. If he didn’t do it he wouldn’t have had to regret it and beg for forgiveness. Funniest thing about it is the guy he left for couldn’t even stay alive to be with him. So it was literally just all for nothing and he’s truly alone.
