Congratulations Maraji. So happy for you. Pregnancy is usually associated with iron deficiency anaemia which becomes more prominent from the second trimester. The baby is basically using up most of the iron for their development. To feel less tired up your iron foods intake and always pair with a source of vitamin C. Iron is available in most of our food but needs vitamin c to be absorbed into the body. If you practice this pairing religiously, you will feel less tired. Your red meat, green leafy veg, nuts and fortified cereals are dietary sources of iron. Pair with any fruit juice of choice or fruit rich in vitamin c. Have an energetic trimester!!!

Spot on! From my first antenatal appointment, I was prescribed iron & vitamin c supplements since the fbc test showed my haemoglobin levels was low. Also advised not to take dairy (milk, yoghurt, cheese) within 2 hours before or after I took the supplements as dairy also interferes with iron absorbtion.

It's normal to feel tired at 6months even till delivered. So that's why you have to consume food with very high iron in them. Here in Nigeria, we're told okro is very rich in iron. At this stage it's important you eat at intervals. Eat well during the day so you don't feel hungry at night. Night meals may give constipation, if you're someone like me. eating well during day time helps you sleep well too. Also ensure you take water. May the Lord see you and your baby through... It's a sweet experience...cheers to safe delivery Your baby is superly healthy... That's what those movements you experience....it could be sometimes painful

I'm super happy for you and I wish you a safe delivery. everything you're experiencing especially the ligament pain I experienced I think its common in first pregnancies it will ease after while, then the constipation/feeling like food is stuck in your chest my doctor told me it was gas from eating beans + the baby was adding to it so remedied mine by drinking lots of water, your baby boy is fine my son kicked a lot has well to the point one day I saw his feet, the kicks are most active at night and a little less during the day when he kicks it could be your voice or daddy's voice or little man is stretching cause the tummy is getting cramped as he grows bigger.
