Best take the passenger seat out then you will have a space of around 14 feet Get a memory foam mattress, getting a good sleep means everything

We are on the same wavelength lol I just traded in my Honda fit for a connect passenger. Took out all the seats and am just trying to figure out the layout. There’s great plethora of conversion of these connects here on YT I named mine Starla 😂✨

Take the seats out. Modify the partition to snap in and out of place so u don't have to sleep over it. Get a really good 4-6 inch foam mattress. The 🔑 to enjoyable vanlife is a good bed. Black out the top part of the partition and buy a windshield sun cover. Avoid adding anything on the outside of the van except maybe the window rain guards. In the USA, hotel parking lots are the best places to park overnight because of the transient nature of the property.

My first reaction would be to ask, before you spend another penny on this idea, if you can exchange this van for a bigger one, I have a Renault traffic short wheel base and to be honest I wouldn't want to go any smaller than that. But if that is not an option (in the words of Mark Watney) you are going to need to science the Sht out of this. one idea would be to get the front passenger seat to rotate, that could then form part of the bed, you can then build the rest of it off the floor and at the same time create some storage underneath, whatever you do, the very best of luck with it.

Bolts on the inside, on back doors, film on front windows, more difficult to break. Remove divider. Power station, flexible solar panels on roof (low profile, stealth). Install some type of kill switch, steering wheel lock. Armaflex insulation, a bit more expensive but good, 19mm advisable, but 16mm is good too. 1 or 2 maxxfan dome or similar are probably enough and more atealth than huge fan. Additional usb fan can help. Plywood, 12mm floor, 2/3cm x 3cm structure of furniture, the rest 9 or 12mm Hope i could help, anything else just ask Im starting my van build too, researched a lot lol mine is kangoo longer version Place bed on side of passanger seat probably is better, when sleeping, push seat forward and have bed extension to add length to bed
@NotOfThisEarth910 күн бұрын
As some said, wince you're tall, the larger version of kangoo or caddy for example could serce you better bed length wise, but you can manage too with that probably, remove divider

My lad lived in a Ford transit for four years while he was a student, long story but he’s now got a small van like this that he’s converting, I can’t see it lasting tbh. I’ve got a house but I’ve got a high top van and it’s fab to be able to stand up in the back.

You could remove the front passenger seat
@DonnyUtton4 күн бұрын
this is a good one and something that I am stuck on, its nice to be able to have a passenger, a few of my friends dont drive, id also have to reclassify it and remove the seatbelts for MOT pass, wonder if will increase insurance, but the positive is that there is actually a lot of space without those two seats there. maybe this is something I can work towards and if in the next 6 months I rarely have passengers then its a sign to remove them

If you find a way of getting android auto working with that unit without a lot of fuss and expense let me know as I have yet to work it out after 8 years. I think the extra I paid for the head unit was a big waste of money as it is useless as you cant use anything internet related once the engine is running

Micro camper, man, there is more space in a rabbit hutch 😂 get yourself a bigger van if you're going to convert to a camper van.
