Great funny commentary over a hilarious anime 😹 It really does deserve a season 2 (.. and OVA for ending). It does shift the vibe from comedy to a more melancholy vibe. Which to me is not bad, just different. And really, there were still moments that made me die laughing in the manga. The issue is with the ending of the manga. Regardless of what people say, the issue is the manga isn't finished. It abruptly ends with no resolution which is just odd. With some more info (the next manga after prison school) there was some drama going on behind the scenes. Tbh, it seemed like Prison School flopped in Japan. It's considered a legendary comedy for us gaijin.... But it didnt even get an official translation to english until nearly before it ended. Really unfortunate situation.

As someone who was reading this manga as it was running in the magazines. Anyone that says it wasn’t as funny is straight capping. There is one particular event in the manga that is notorious though for dragging out the pacing. It was so bad it was our Namek, you feel my “yo dog they still on that one arc” “yeah man” other then that though and a bit of a disappointment in my opinion, in the last chapter it goes in a weird direction but the story isn’t ruined by it.

FUN FACTOIDS n Recommendations; The Mangaka of Prison School's passion project before ( and after) was something called 'Me and the Devil Blues'. This will surprise you. It's not ecchi comedy at all. It's some surrealist horror that deals with serious topics like racism in the USA south.... How he went from something so heavy to 'piss n shit comedy manga' uhhhh we may never know 😹 After Prison School ended, his next manga (with a new publisher.... Hmmmmm) released called Raw Hero. It actually has alot of Prison School elements in it, and even if it may be not as funny it goes even FARTHER than Prison School in regards to explicit content.... And the strangest part? It's effectively is a meta commentary on Prison School (and its production) itself. It's def worth a read if ya ever read Prison School. Really, Raw Hero may have a better chance at an anime adaptation at this point since it's so short.
