I too have a cat who WILL NOT leave my plants alone! So, in the spring/early summer, we put them on our covered patio. In the fall, we close off our spare bedroom, and keep the door closed, to keep her out.

I almost feel if you bring that board n batten wall down behind your hutch, it will look too busy. Your hutch is such a Beautiful focal point and I love how you decorate it and change decor for the seasons, and I almost think it would be in competition with a decorative wall behind it. I personally like how you have the board and batten in the hall because it defines that space nicely. I also LOVE your thrifting 😊

The crock brought back memories when I was young boy on the farm my mother and I used the crock by pouring our fresh from the cow milk thur a metal strainer on top of the crock for making butter and cream,also she would use the top brown rim for sharping her kitchen knifes.good simple times.

I have a 12 gallon crock , got for 50.00 15 years ago. I have a wooden round top from Lowes on top and use it as an end table. On your island, instead of legs to the floor, have them screwed in under the edge, to the back of the island on an angle. Gives support, and easier to sweep and mop around.

You are wise to limit your purchases, even if you like an item. I am in the process of trying to declutter and I so wish that earlier in life I had not chosen to collect so much "stuff". Butcher block would be pretty but it might make the cabinet top heavy. However the bead board and pretty legs would fix that.

The round milk glass bowl goes to a stand mixer. It usually had a large and small bowl. That's the smaller one.

We have several larger crocks that were my grandma’s. My dad made sauerkraut and beer in them. Probably other things too, but…I was a kid, don’t remember.

For your island I love the butcher block top or even a stone top. Down the side put a plate rack . You could probably put two shelves in to hold trays or platter or plates Happy 2023 .

Great ideas! Maybe instead of adding legs to the island, just add pretty wood arches/brackets. Love the peg rack idea..might catch your pockets though as you pass. Cute hooks wouldn’t stick out so much…If you take the board and batten all the way down it would look nice! Not a big deal to lower the switch a bit as the rail might cover the old spot? Lol He has a nice voice, and enjoyed your thrifting places they have really nice items…I do have a question with the kitchen…could you put a flat top stove/oven where the island is with two small cabinets on each side and then have the bar where it already is with your butcher block cut for stove insert? I don’t like to cook either but I do like to cook with my stove…we have a 2nd place which was a nice small mobile home up north from us for summer breaks and all but had no stove and like you said had to store a lot of different electric items for meals to make with…I think your home is inviting and nicely decorated, thanks for welcoming us in! Hi Stephanie!. The snow plates with the girl I really liked. I am familiar with 31 and they are very expensive. My hairdresser sells them. House plants with cats I know is a no no because of the possibility of the plants being poisonous as well as I have one of my cats who I know will be like yours. I think the only safe way is to be able to hang the from the ceiling. I would love to have indoor plants but sadly not able to. Many blessing to you and Timmy.

Hey Stephanie! I love going thrift shopping with you! We’ll be going to Tennessee next month and if love to stop in your peddlers mall…is it right in Elkton? Oh…the teapot, creamer and gravy boat at the beginning of your video is the China I have! I have 16 place settings of it, and it came from my mom. Her dad would get a piece every time he would fill up his gas tank and give it to her….I have ALL the pieces….veggie bowls, gravy boats, teapot, creamer sugar, butter pat dishes…all of it. Can you imagine how much gas he had to buy to get all of those dishes! Good gracious, it would cost a fortune now! Lol Love all your goodies and that crock is Amazing!!

The little white bowl would go with a stand mixer, probably a Sunbeam one, & yes it would either be an Anchor Hocking or a Pyrex one. They weren't always marked when made for a mixer set. So if its still there go ahead & pick it up, if you like it.
