I own the same Aprilia and I have been absolutely stoked about the overall performance. - I have had 4 Aprilia’s with no engine problems whatsoever - fuel capacity is awesome -compared to the the T7 - the features and performance are way more on the Tuareg - yes I spent 10 hours riding the T7 - I participated in the 300 mile off road California Sheet Iron Rally last May (500 participates showed up) and the bike performed outstanding right off the dealer floor (w/tire upgrade). 90% participants had enduro bikes and the Tuareg hung in there with 289 lbs bikes Tons of value and fun factor. yes I am a big fan boy but yet I had to pay for my bike

In terms of squibs giving you shit about the Daddy Tuareg 660 just them the following : The 660 has five victories and eight podiums in eight Motorally races . Aprilia also made history by achieving the first-ever overall victory for a twin-cylinder motorcycle during the Rapino stage. In the FX class, dedicated to rally-raid motorcycles, Claudio Spanu lived up to expectations. In his debut year with the Tuareg 660, the Sardinian rider won both races in Olbia, securing the category title and demonstrating the exceptional versatility of the Italian machine.

Seems like a really cool bike and Aprilia hooking it up big time. I agree about middle weight ADV bikes being the best "all rounder" on the market. They do a bit of everything well enough while also not being the best at any one thing.... but it is 70 or 80% of what the best thing would be and it does all the other stuff at that level too. And you can choose different tire setups to do different types of rides. I see why the ADV space pulls a lot of riders in after they get over their "need" for an R1 or a Turbo Busa. It will be cool to see what you do with this thing.

Arguably the best all-around motorcycle there is at the moment. I'm thinking about getting one myself. I hardly ever see them coming in my shop for major issues. Seem to be pretty rock solid. Putting heated grips on these things are my only complaint. You have to take apart the whole front of the motorcycle. Also, getting certain parts can take a long time.

One mod you can do which is very inexpensive is to get short front flasher stalks from an European supplier. The factory flasher stalks are too long. If you happen to drop the bike and the handlebar is turned (as it sometime happens while off roading, the stalks do break and you end up with a dangling flasher light. I also added a spring loaded chain tensioner on mine to make sure the chain doesn't come off the rear sprocket on rough trails.

Personally I went with a Scrambler 1200xe, but same logic really. Midsize adv is so flexible and comfortable and even if you're not on dirt the bigger front and ground clearance makes town hooliganism super fun.
