Just remember these Key things in order to learn the game. -Don’t be afraid to do stuff (it took me 3 months to go to a different place then Erisia because I didn’t know anywhere or I was scared) -Make sure to explore (It’s important to explore to discover things, and it’s very fun, it also will lead you to find better experience gain when you need it.) -Use the wiki, and videos (Deepwokens Wikipedia is going to be your babysitter, and teach you most things about the game.) Also it’s a lot funnier to play with friends, and they help you when your in a tough spot, like about to die. (P.s learn about deep shrines)

Another tip is that if your trying to learn about mobs better (how to fight them) do trial of one it taught me everything I need to know about pve it’s located in the in the icy place it’s recommended to switch to another slot and do it. If you don’t understand watch a guide “trial of one location” helps a lot ❤

Still haven’t watched this vid yet because it’s quite late when I found out about it, but there are few things I wanted to share about my experience with the game (as if anyone would read allat) DW is not really all that new player friendly, as it contains quite large amount of information and a different game style to other Roblox games. If you have already watched that video about the coming hit Rell Seas, it pointed out that the game is taking on a different play style other than doing quests to level up, etc… And now that I think about it, isn’t that what rouge likes are ? That’s the unique part of Deepwoken, and that’s why people actually play it. It’s not like there are that many player playing at once; but the loyalty to the game and the excitement factor of actually enjoying it. Call me a permafreshie for all that I care, I spent lots of time on google and DW’s wiki to learn more about the game and enjoy it. Sure it is hard to finds the game enjoyable due to the different play style, but it also filtered out all that casualty of other roblox games. Yeah as a permafreshie I recommend going on the DW wiki page and watching other KZbinr’s progressions, quite some fun time there. Other than that, if you have any questions regarding the game like how do you do this thing or what is that thing, check out the Deepwoken discord server. There’s a section for those questions about the game and people there will “most likely” be supportive (hey it’s deepwoken players don’t blame me if you’re flooded with “skill issue” “block parry dodge” stuff.)

Hey good video, I have been trying to get into deep as well. The game is fun even though parrying is highly dependent on ping. When it comes to executing people there are specific ways you can “grip” people without actually doing the animation such as reaper bell and putting downed bodies in acid pits (the water that hurts u) but that option doesn’t work on npc’s and only players aswell as some other more niche ways but they aren’t really important just nice to know info

To be fully honest, trial of one is a great teacher for PvE. If you get a friend to unlock the origin for you, or you unlock it yourself, you can use it to get better at fighting monsters and finding the parry windows. Trial of one is a dungeon like place that you can only go to at level one, and you can only enter by yourself. To unlock the origin you have to complete the parry check and defeat three of the monsters that are there. They will spawn one at a time, giving you breaks in between to put points in and stuff. The order of this trial is a parry check that starts slow, gets faster, and then goes even faster to where you have to spam F and then it's finished. Then, after your point break, you have to figut a sharko, otherwise known as a megalodaunt. Then, you fight a stone golem. Then you fight a thresher, which is kind of like an alligator/dinosaur type thing. Defeating that unlocks the origin. Then, you fight 2 angels at the same time, which is where it gets difficult, and can definitely help your parry timing. Then, you fight an enforcer, which is a humanoid type monster that uses a heavy weapon, but acts different than other humanoid monsters, because it's more of a hybrid. Then, you fight a sand knight, which is a large golem with a blade, and their weakness is blunt weapons (hammers and clubs). After that is a second parry check which is like the last part of the first parry check where you just spam F. Finally, there is a black sharko while the parry orbs are coming at you. Defeat that, and you'll be able to at least hold off against void walkers and you'll be level 7-10 when you're finished with it. I highly recommend To1(Trial of One) solely for those reasons. Gonna say some stuff here so uh Get ready for the wiki but youtube comment variant of deepwoken There's a lot to this game, from the different attunements (magic) to all the build you can make, heck you can make characters from anime with the amount of freedom from this game. But it all comes down to the basics First = Parrying (Tap F) No big secret, parrying is the best solution to any problem. an enemy is going to atack you? Parry. A golem is spinning and chasing you? Parry. A voidwalker jumps you? Okay that's wraps for you if you're bad :P But I Digress Whenever it comes to mobs it's all about their attack patterns. The better you know a monster's attack pattern you can retaliate even at power 1. Which, takes me to the next point: If you're new or you're learning the ropes always go to the trial of 1 (TO1 / Minityrsa). The enemies have less hp, it's a safety net against other enemies or people from interrupting, and it gives stupid exp. Even if you're a pro you'll still do Trial Of 1 because of the exp it gives. Another basic mechanic of the game is Dodging (Q) Now Dodging is by far more reliable but also more punishable than parrying. A dodge will give you the power to say Nuh-uh to basically any incoming attack. A sharko is going to kick you? Dodge. A voidwalk- no wait... But the point is, Dodging is by far better than parrying, since it gives you immunity frames. It also avoids any AoE attacks and can save you from attacks that break guard or that are straight up unparryable. However, it is also less reliable than parrying, since it has a 1-2 second cooldown, the immunity frames don't last too long, and it has the worst enemy: Endlag. So dodging is better than parrying but it's situational. Also, there's something called "Roll Cancel" which is basically a better version of the normal roll/dodge. To do it you press Q to roll and right after you press M2 to cancel it. What this does is that it will have barely to none endlag, the immunity frames are longer and it's basically better overall. Now there are some talents (Cards) that make dodging better in general, like Ghost or Tap Dancer, but not the point Parrying should be your main tool. And whenever you can't parry then dodge. Now there's also blocking (Hold F) However blocking is just a safety net whenever you don't have the parry or dodge in cooldown. Blocking is by far the weakest state you can be at, since an attack adds on posture, and if your posture bar fills you get posture/guard broken. And it's not fun. It's basically as free hit for an enemy or mob. But it can come in handy too for certain moments There's also Venting and Tempo (G) Now it may seem complicated, and it is, but it's easy. Basically, the more Tempo you have the faster you regen your ether. And this Tempo is gained whenever you land a hit or whenever you get hit. Simple. Now there's Venting. Venting will take some of your Tempo (with some I mean half a bar), But it's basically the best tool you can use. To start off, it will make you immune to anything and everything for a solid half second. It also pushes enemy backwards, a knockback that is always the same. And it basically helps you get out of tight situations. However, the Venting range is not that big. And it can be parried or blocked. Yes, it can be blocked. Also it can be dodged. And Using any of the above will effectively make your ventage useless. Still really useful but situational nonetheless. All those will be your tools along your journey. Now, there's the mantras (Magic) and the Talents (Cards) Mantras are basically abilities you get every other level up, These abilities can range, but are resumed in: Combat Mantras: Woohoo, big boy damage. The damage outcome may vary depending on the attunement and how it works. Support mantras: These can range. From being a small buff for your character like more speed to literally healing you and even being used in combat. However, most of the time, these will never do damage by any means. Mobility Mantras: SPEED. Jokes aside, mobility mantras can be used for dealing damage and mix-ups, but their main point is so you can reach places more easily. Wildcard: Now a small easter egg, there's something called Wildcard that you always have. A wildcard is basically a free slot for any mantra. Because, yes, there is a limited amount of mantras you can have in you actively at once. for example, you can have 4 combat mantras, 2 support mantras, 1 mobility mantra and a wildcard. This means that as long as the mantra space for that category is filled then you can't get any more of them. Except for the wildcard, the joker. It lets you get one more mantra of any type in your character, which can really help. Also, all these spend your ether, which will regenerate at all times. However, your ether is not unlimited, and there's a cooldown to mantras, so be careful. Next part is not that neccesary early in the game. These are Oaths, which matter but they don't. (Just ignore this for now) These Oath change your style of game HEAVILY. They imply at least a good portion of a build, and if you don't have an Oath you're basically in disadvantage against anyone who has an Oath. Yes, even power 1 can get Oaths, as long as you meet the requirements. There's around 12 total Oaths in this game. And here they are all in a nutshell Arcwarder = Ironman Suit that gives nice damage. Blindseer: Support and Damage Oath, mostly support. Contractor: This is straight up only for pvp. Dawnwalker: Stupiod requirements but it's really good. Fadetrimmer: Mostly trolling, actually useful. Jetstriker: Speed but better. Linkstrider: Support Oath, no friends no power. Oathless: Objectively the worst Oath but better than having no Oath (Yes, Oathless is an Oath and having no Oath is called "Pathfinder"). Silentheart: No attunements, no magic, just live and die by the sword. Starkinder: It's really good and very useful overall (IM THE BIGGEST BIRD) . Visionshaper: Self explanatory, Domain Expansion. Too much text? Cope :P

The guy you were progressing with is wrong about most things. First of all you upgrade strength/fortitude and not erudition. The game is 90% parrying and attacking, not 90% ether and mantras
