I'm with you. I like a heavy guitar. My first guitar is 9 1/2 pounds & I played it for personal practice, band rehearsals & live shows over 7 years.

@@Canadianwheelchairguitar I'm glad to hear I'm not alone in preferring a heavier instrument. Thank you! Out of curiosity, what guitar were you playing? I'm picturing like a Gibson Les Paul Standard?
@Canadianwheelchairguitar13 күн бұрын
@@jeffreymartinez5829 It was my first guitar back in 2001. It's a green quilt top veneer Les Paul knock off with a bolt-on neck by a company named "Tradition" that may have lasted for a year. It's comparable to a Tokai. It's all green with white binding that has yellowed over the years. My luthier set it up way back when & I haven't changed anything other than the strings. My luthier is now retired but he compared it to a 1959 Les Paul.

@@Przemek328 I'm so glad people are able to get one this time around. Or at least more people than the first time. I hope you enjoy yours!! FYI, it looks like they're releasing more of the same models with different finishes. The black and green ones just dropped. I suspect a shell pink one and maybe a sandblasted red one are incoming.

Where are you getting the 2 year wait from? From the time he announced this specific limited edition it was like a couple weeks before you could order one. Mine arrived at my door a week after I ordered it.
@jeffreymartinez58296 күн бұрын
@matthewwillinger8475 Agufish announced the V2 sig development a LONG time ago in one of his vids. I set some money aside for it a few months after he showed the prototype. I held on to that money for over a year before HB gave the official tease for the instrument. The actual release was a few weeks after that tease. Agufish also had the prototypes in the backgrounds of his vids after the initial announcement. It was an effective tactic to keep fans from forgetting about them.
@matthewwillinger84756 күн бұрын
@@jeffreymartinez5829 yeah, I see what you mean. I guess I just figured once he made the final decisions on the prototypes it would take a while for manufacturing. Kind of disappointed we didn't get the true sandblasted ones. I like the purple, but the top feels like paper. I know it's a veneer, but still.

I just got my non baritone version, and mine had no screws in the bridge pickup. The pickup was just flopping around.

@@jeffreymartinez5829 I should have mentioned that other than that, I love it. It's a really beautiful guitar. To make sure it worked, I pulled screws out of a humbucker on another of my guitars.

This guitar looks amazing and I want to get it, but I've never played or owned a guitar that did not have fret inlays on the front of the neck.. hmm what to do
@jeffreymartinez582913 күн бұрын
@@AndyG_ I'm biased, but I'd go for it before they're sold out (if they aren't already). I have a few guitars and basses with no fret markers on the fretboard itself. I really like the look of a clean fretboard, and I find that the side dot inlays are enough for me to find my way up and down the neck. Maybe you'll have a similar perception if you give it a try.

I used to have the same concern, always had fret markers on the face, but then picked up an old Ibanez ART100 that doesn't. To be honest, I adjusted quickly to focusing on the side dots and I just don't notice the lack of dots on the face now - and I am a novice player.
@frankiechan965112 күн бұрын
While annoying, at least it was just the pickup screw/spring that needed to be installed. Did you have a spare or was it sitting in the pickup cavity? Other than that, I hope you play the heck out of that beauty. Unfortunately, it's hideously expensive to get HB stuff into Australia - otherwise, I'd have several.
@jeffreymartinez582912 күн бұрын
@@frankiechan9651 The screw was sitting in the pickup cavity. Neither side was mounted to the pickup ring, but the fix was straightforward since nothing was stripped or warped. Just needed remounting. I do plan to play that guitar a lot. I'm sorry the import fees are so bad in Australia.

From experience, Thomann is the worst when it comes to check the guitars before shipping!!! And customer service totally sucks.

What exactly do you have to fix on the guitar?
@jeffreymartinez582914 күн бұрын
@Jake-Aprile The bridge pickup was completely separated from the pickup ring. I had to disassemble the pickup ring, remount the pickup, and then put it back together again. Ended up being an easy fix, but I was initially concerned there was more wrong with it. In the end, it turned out to be missed assembly and missed quality control.

Do you like the pickups?
@jeffreymartinez582920 күн бұрын
@@mikelpagazartundua3294 I do like the pickups. The coil split feels like a true feature rather than an afterthought. When in single coil, the pickups are noisier, but that is to be expected. If you're looking for chugs, the pickups are certainly capable of that.
