I know I'm playing "catch up" on your videos, but you asked, so I'm telling you... I prefer TNT for neither mining. I like to get about a stack of it, Place the TNT in a VERY long line, about every other block, and just place a button or use red stone & place a lever. I find by placing the TNT every other block, and about 2 blocks above where they say it's best to mine neither-rite, it usually serves me well. But it's important to note, that you always have a chance of your TNT falling & exploding lower than intended. I always put a few double chests at the beginning of my mining hall, and put all the "extra" blocks into it. And I square up my long hallway, cause you'd be surprised how much extra goodies you can find that way. (Make the floor, walls & ceiling all 1 flat surface.)
